Midway between hipster Dumbo, forgotten Vinegar Hill, and the Farragut Houses, Los Papi's turns out seriously tasty 'Spanish' eats. Think juicy roast pork and veg over rice with fried plaintains and that addictive salsa verde. The Cuban sando is awesome: ham, carmelized pork, nice roll to hold the juices, pickles and mustard to cut the heaviness. Humble digs, very friendly staff. No surprise that diverse patrons were streaming through. It rivals Margon and Sophie's.
Always love coming here. The food is fresh and always comes in very large portions. Very reasonably priced and the entire staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is enjoyable. Ask for a morir soñando, which is made with orange juice, milk, sugar and ice. You can't go wrong with the steak with peppers and onions.
When this place leaves Dumbo will have lost another great little pop eatery. Serving factory workers since the 1960s till now, and hopefully into the future. Breakfast, lunch and early dinner. Hot soup on a cold day from this place would warm the bones and heat the soul. Try it.
