Came here tonight and absolutely LOVED it. I was raised in Texas, moved to Ohio as a kid, and moved back to Austin when I was 23 and now living back in Ohio around my mom's family. This place feels like home to me. The atmosphere is so similar to many places in Austin, especially because there was a live band tonight! The wall has Mexican themed artwork, but with kind of a flare too. We sat at the bar and they have herbs they're growing, and they're non gmo, and locally sourced as much as possible. Also kind of an Austin thing that I appreciate.
The owner or manager came over and talked to my friend and I and had us try the Mission Margarita and the Jalepeno Margarita. I'm not big on margaritas because I've never been big into tequila, but the bartender made it PERFECT. Like, the tequila is there but not overbearing. The Jalepeno Margarita was just a slight kick but it doesn't stay forever.
The service was awesome. We sat at the bar and the bartender was quick on everything. Food service was at a speed I'd expect. Also, Tuesday is buy 2 get 1, but their prices start at $3.50 a taco. That might sound like a lot, but they are HUGE. I haven't seen tacos that big since Texas, and everything is bigger there. As a Texan, I did find the brisket slightly dry, but that's literally the only downfall I found to this place.
I will definitely be back, and can see myself being a regular!!! If I could give this place a higher rating I would.
A colleague from Houston and I visited for the first time today for lunch. We heard the food was great, but maybe a little expensive. Our waitress Alexis was so nice and answered all of our questions about the different toppings. We overheard several staff members discussing food options, as this is a new concept for the area, and they were incredibly knowledgeable. Very impressive service, and that's coming from two individuals who manage in the customer service industry.
My colleague ordered a taco with brisket and she said it was FANTASTIC! It was big, with lots of meat and only cost her $3.50. Being from Houston, she was AMAZED at the cool atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service. Youngstown is small for her but she said this place had some of the best tacos she's ever had. She spent $12 with drink, taco, chips and salsa and queso.
I ordered two tacos. The chicken was ok - maybe it needed a little more seasoning or lime, but the apple slaw, jalapeños and fresh cilantro added flavor overall. My shrimp taco was THE BEST I've ever had. I added the crack cauliflower and sweet Pedro salsa, along with some other items, which may have made the difference. I could have eaten six of those!! My meal was $10 too - blown away by the low price!
Overall, the inside was super cool, super urban, and someplace this city NEEDS! Love the concept, love the food, love the service. Will definitely be back for a margarita (when I'm not working).
This place is excellent. I’ve been a few times, and every time the staff has been very courteous, knowledagble, and friendly. A friend and I came for “Taco Tuesday”, and were pleased with the deal. The waiter explained a few things that we weren’t aware of (difference between tacos, the “Mission Salsa and queso), without being condescending, or rude. The live music, trivia, excellent food, and great prices keep me coming back for more!
