I thoroughly enjoyed my hamburger at Hungry Hollow. I can say without hesitation that this hidden treasure of a restaurant serves the best, most perfectly cooked french fries in comparison to any other place I've ordered fries at. I don't like fries that are even slightly soggy or oily. My Hungry Hollow fries were plentiful and served with just the right amount of crispness. It's 8:00 AM as I'm writing this and I could eat some Hungry Hollow fries for breakfast!
The place has an old school vibe. Standard breakfast fare. Eggs were cooked perfect and my meal was great.
The real kicker is their Belgian Waffles. Those waffles might be the best in Sacramento or near enough. Order the waffles, you won't regret it.
The best cafe/diner I have ever been to. The employees are very friendly and it have a welcoming hospitality that is hard to find. As if the experience couldn't get any better the food was amazing and the waitress/waiter truly waited on your every need. Coffee never ran dry and any request was met shortly thereafter. I cannot stress enough that if you live here or are visiting this place is a must go for breakfast.
Another restaurant that we found while out running errands one morning. Both of us ordered the biscuits and gravy with two eggs and bacon, it tasted so good. Also the coffee ☕ they serve is really nice and we are picky about the coffee we drink. The waitress was very friendly and the place looked really nice. I would recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends. 😋
Great food. Prices are pretty cheap. I'm guessing maybe the low overhead maybe? Works for me. Kitchen is quick to make my meal too. Coffee isn't the best tasting but meh... they have a new regular customer in me.
Cute little spot and it’s so close to where I live. Food was super good and the people were very kind and warm. The price was really good too, two people came out to be around $21! Will definitely be back.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot to eat breakfast since we typically go to the same few every time. I came across Hungry Hollow and looked at the menu and photos and thought it sounded great! Now when I tell you this, I am not exaggerating…great was an understatement when walking through their door. It was PERFECT! We love small, hole in the wall, “welcome home” type places and Hungry Hollow is just that! Plus, it smelled great and we hadn’t even gotten up close to any food yet! And it was so cutely decorated, which was fun, too!
My boyfriend ordered a ham and cheese inlet w/hash browns and toast and he said it was DELICIOUS! The sourdough toast was thick, the hash browns thick shredded, and the ham was like thick ham steak in the omelet! Can’t go wrong with this classic! I ordered the Belgian waffle meal with bacon, extra crispy, and an over medium egg, side of syrup and peanut butter for the waffle, and it was fantastic! Truly one of the best Belgian waffles I’ve ever had! Crispy on the outside, soft and lightly sweet on the inside! We also got orange juice, which was good, too!
Not only was the food wonderful but the staff and service was incredible! Everybody welcomed you like family, were attentive and quick, but mainly, the employees AND customers were all SO NICE! You can tell it’s mostly locals who’ve been coming a long time, we love places like that and will now become locals ourselves at Hungry Hollow because we will absolutely continue coming back. Sherry was our waitress and she was fabulous! And Scott, whom I assume is either owner or manager, was so kind! Having good food is always key but amazing service makes the whole experience, and Hungry Hollow has both! We are so glad we found this place and can’t wait to eat there again!
