Visiting Chicago to celebrate my wife’s birthday we decided to have dinner at Gibson’s because it seemed to have an elegant atmosphere and menu with good views down the river. The food was very good with prices similar to other steakhouses. The view was as advertised and the service was outstanding. The one downside was the tables were very close together and it was a much louder, less intimate dining experience than we expected. We still had a wonderful evening.
My husband & I celebrated our 7th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. We requested a table with a view when making our reservations which was so beautiful. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. Bonus! The restaurant brought us an anniversary slice of mousse cake which was the perfect sweet ending to a great night. We will be back to try the baked Alaska that was being flambéed at a few tables near by!
Fantastic views of the city, especially at night! Food was great. I recommend the vodka rigatoni, sea bass, chocolate dessert, Brussels sprout and the crab bisque. Excellent mashed potatoes! Salads were ok and the seafood tower was good but expensive for the amount of seafood plus no substitutions on the seafood tower were permitted. Friendly service, very attentive! One downfall…. No kids menu for children.
