We were pulled in by the happy hour sign on our way back to our hotel. Pippin's Tavern was a cool reprieved from the afternoon heat. It was open seating when we went about 3:00 pm. We'd already had a hearty lunch, so we ordered the happy hour oysters, cheese balls, and I got a happy hour draft Surly grapefruit supreme. The house hit sauce for the oysters was OK, but Tabasco would've been spicier and tastier. I did like the minced garlic. First time I had a Surly beer; It was pretty smooth but I'm no beer connoisseur. Overall service was really good and our waitresses friendly. The tavern seems like an upscale hang out.
I initially found because of its collapse proximity to current job site. Needless to say, it is now my favorite spot to get quick, accurate, and extremely friendly service! When I dine, I typically see Jessica and Ishe (I hope the spelling is correct) they definitely enhance the atmosphere. Their energy combined with the food makes it easy to return to again and again. I have yet to come during the evening hours but from the way the downstairs is set up, I am certainly thinking of planning a small party there. Especially now that I have become a regular lol their lunch special Prime Rib & housemade chips are really tasty. The housemade horseradish sauce is 10 out on 10…good on just about everything including the fries. The crab cake is an explosion of delicious seasonings and the grilled asparagus are really on point too. As far as the cocktails, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how well Jessica makes an Irish Mule! Omg one of the best hands down 🤩
Ok
Smoothest Martini ever. With hand stuffed olives
Pippins Martini.
The espresso martini is worthy.
Tried the jumbo wings and fries both good choices.
Atmosphere is a winner. Irish pub all the way.
Good prices. Window tables are fun for people watching. And the one dog was super fluffy btw.
