This coffee shop and diner rocks! You might not be able to get a seat because it can get very busy, but there are 12 seats at the diner and 3 small tables for 2. It is definitely a family type fuel here with a classic vibe. You can find oldies playing on the two TVs, with classic songs playing in the background. It was like a time machine back into 1980. Many regulars come in and are known by name. Multiple people working there will come and talk to you as well.
Today I tried a bacon date and goat cheese omelette which came with a side of pancakes and hash browns, all for $14. The Omelette was different, with a combination of savory, sweet, and creamy! I highly recommend the spice rub that is on the side, which is very tasty and not too spicy.
It is definitely worth coming back here, just might have to wait or come at a later hour.
Customer Parking is available alongside the restaurant and on street, but beware that the parking lot sign does not indicate that Edgebrook Coffee Shop customers are listed on there.
I recommend the business to make parking recommendations to ease the burden on the customers, but I had no problem parking her for 30 min.
Chris' s final day as owner. He found new owners and will be here for a couple weeks during transition. New owners are planning on keeping things the same. Always have enjoyed my visits over the past 7 years.
Great little place. Owner supports local, nice and friendly. Got a Denver omelet. Fresh cooked to order in front of you. Great breakfast
Best corn beef hash in the area. The seasoning on the meat is incredible. You can taste the clove. I'd order a side of it any time I go there. The rib eye hash with fresh blue cheese is also incredible. Coffee is perfect. The owner and staff here are great. So much history here, I used to eat here 15 years ago. You can't go wrong with anything at the Edgebrook. Support this wonderful local business.
This place was wonderful!! A very familiar, casual vibe with exciting, intriguing menu items. I highly recommend checking out their weekly specials. We had Fruity Pebbles pancakes that brought some tears to my eyes with fond memories of Saturday morning cartoons. 🥹 the whole staff was great. Can't wait to come back.
I work in the neighborhood and every single time I go into this little diner, everyone is absolutely wonderful. They’re kind, welcoming, attentive, and funny! The owner always greets us with a smile. It feels like a true mom and pop diner where everyone knows your name. The food is delicious and worth stopping in for! Don’t over look this place!
Where do I start…the food was so great that I ended up visiting 2 days in a row during my weekend trip.
The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing (I could tell that they were not skimping on anything and truly cared about the food), and the waitresses were super kind and fast.
Great coffee as well!
The best corned beef hash I've had in Chicago. New owners are really bringing a fresh take on this classic spot. If you haven't been here or haven't been here in a while, I'd highly recommend hitting it up again.
Let's just say it has a very unpretentious ambience! If you want upscale this is definitely not it...but food was great; fresh & fast. Very friendly, attentive service. Limited seating, so don't bring a big group.
Decent food, good atmosphere, quick service, decent price for the amount of food. Coffee was good. I got the veggie and cheddar omelet, hash browns (I prefer mine a little crispier, but the flavor was good), with wheat bread toast (which was delicious!). Omelet was good but I felt it could’ve done with less veggies and more egg to give it more of an omelet feel. Servings were large; I couldn’t finish everything. Definitely a repeat place!
Edgebrook Coffee Shop is a quiet GIANT! It's a fantastic local spot that has a very original menu and the preparation and service are on point. It's a small space with big flavors and a wonderful staff. Sean thanks for making my visit so memorable. I'll be back and I live in Bronzeville. The drive is worth it. Get to Edgebrook Coffee Shop!!!
Great spot! My wife and I recently moved to Edgebrook and we come here multiple times per week to grab their coffee to go - really good cold brew at an incredible price. We loved the old owners and met the new owners the other day, really great people as well. Highly recommend this neighborhood icon!
I work as a corporate concierge and had to find a place to create an Office Thanksgiving Luncheon. Well, I hit the jackpot when I contacted Sean and his partner at Edgebrook Coffee Shop. Sean and his staff delivered an amazing meal of Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Mac n Cheese, Corn and Cornbread. Everyone was so happy with the amazing food. Check out this place.
This is a wonderful, neighborhood diner. The food is fantastic. It is small so , depending on what day and what time you go, you may have to wait to be seated. Be patient and kind. It is well worth it.
Honestly, I do not know how I missed this place in all my times driving up and Central, but boy am I glad I found it. It’s one of those classic diner spots with some of the best breakfast food I’ve had. Well portioned and delicious meals, some of the best coffee I’ve had, reasonably priced, and outstanding service. The small team was super attentive and the food came out so quickly. I wouldn’t take a family of 10 there since it’s a small place but worth going as a couple or a group of four if you don’t mind sitting in the diner stools. Overall a decent amount of people coming in and out, a lot taking to go orders. I’m looking forward to heading back there soon for another great meal.
It's so great to have such a local gem in the area. The space is tight but the service is quick and friendly. The owner keeps it interesting with a cool rotating menu like "omelette with strawberries and cream cheese" which, in my opinion, is really original and sounds like it could actually be good? I got the Bacon, Dates and Goat Cheese Omelette and I was blown away with how delicious it was. Prices are reasonable with everything <$11. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!
Cute little hole-in-the-wall coffe shop. Small, only a few 2 seat tables and a long counter so the place is a little tight. Not sure if it would be good for a larger group. Open from 7 to 2 so truly a breakfast/brunch place. The food was great. I had the 3 egg omelet with roasted veggies and cheddar cheese. It was so good! Service was good and it was reasonably priced. One thing to note: you may want to pay with cash. You can use a credit card to pay but they will add an additional 2% for using it. It only added .59 to my bill so it's not that big of a deal but it's good to know. Overall, a very good experience. I will definitely be going back
Like stepping back in time. Classic no frills diner with above average coffee, great homemade hash and my new go to, the cornmeal pancakes. Family owned and run, nice people that make you feel at home. I will be back soon!
