This place was an amazing unexpected find! The food was amazing. The drinks were delicious (get the St. Sebastian). And the service was some of the best I've received. Fiona was very personable and easy to engage in conversation. And if the blueberry crumble is on the dessert menu, don't hesitate! It was the PERFECT way to end the meal! White Oak has earned a place in the rotation for visits to Chicago!

One of my favorite Chicago restaurants! White Oak has a wonderful neighborhood feel with a very comfortable interior. The food is always beautifully made, tasty, and comforting with a very solid wine and cocktail list to match. Its one of my favorite spots for a comfortable catch up with friends and I highly recommend!

Awesome place to have a great meal with no fuss. The decor is rustic yet restrained, elegant and definitely relaxing. Chef John Asbaty treated us to a few excellent dishes. The grain salad was hearty yet not heavy, the kale and chard salad light and bright and the vegetable tartar simply delicious. That was quite enough for a meal but we still shared grilled chicken on the bed of wheat berries and loved that dish as well. Our server Eric made sure that our dining experience was superb. I am delighted to have this place within walking distance of my house because I enjoyed a lot of chef's creations at Panozzo's in South Loop and was addicted to his out of this world bolognese sauce there. I am looking forward to many more memorable meals at White Oak Tavern.
