I had three meets, the one I like the most was the wings: they were tender and full of good flavor. Coming in slightly past that would be the brisket, also very tender and full of great flavor. After that I had the pulled pork which was also very good, but the pork I would put barbecue sauce on to top it. The wings in the brisket did not need any sauce.
Had the Downtown Sampler: I'm full! Brisket was fork tender & flavourful. Pulled pork was tasty. Chicken very good. Mashed potatoes with gravy. Baked beans were delicious. Nice beer selection. WiFi speedy. Restroom was clean.
Only complaint: took 15+ minutes to take my order. The restaurant wasn't that busy. However doesn't take away from the entire experience. I would dine again.
My husband had eaten here before and really enjoyed it.
Great exterior nostalgic feel.
Nice urban/industrial style interior w plenty of outside table offerings.
Dinner style horseshoe counter and bar.
Lots of TV's for sports fans.
There was a bit of an off-putting smell when we entered. Not sure if it was a combo of cleaning supplies w day old beer or what
Want what you would expect from a BBQ restaurant. I wanted to be overwhelmed w BBQ smells.
Can't say enough good things about our waiter, Drew! Friendly, knowledgeable, approachable. Just a good guy! Thanks!
Food options were great!
Tried the make your own bbq bowl. Had chedder grits, brisket, pickled veggies, coleslaw and cornbread croutons. I may be missing something. It was fun selecting the combinations.
The other plate was a brisket sandwich w waffle fries. It was tasty.
Didn't care for the vinegar bbq sauce.
Penny's original was the winner at our table.
Tops of dispenser bottles could have been cleaned.
We would return and try new menu items👍
