My friend stopped by Mi Cocina for lunch while in the area shopping. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was delightful, attentive and the service was quick. I have never been in a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant that offered barbeque brisket enchiladas so I thought I would try them out. All I can say is yummy. We will visit Mi Cocina in our local city to compare the difference.
Recommended by my friends in Dallas. Restaurant was very clean, service was impeccable and the food presentation was outstanding. I had Ernie's chicken and it was delicious.
Good Food - Lunch & Dinner Different. In the evening with low lighting, this location is very well decorated. The use of heavy woods and white stone create a very upscale look. The dark wood tables with padded chairs speak of comfort. The servers are in black pants and dark navy shirt that fits with the overall theme. In the day time during lunch, it has a different feel. Those soft benches are covered in fur. The lines are harsher and the navy shirts are more contrasting.
The food was outstanding. My Chicken Quesadilla was very moist and flavorful. It came with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole. I loved every bite. The surprise on the plate was a bit of jalapeno juice dropped over sparingly. It was not over powering or burning, but did add just a bit of punch and then gone.
My co-workers tried several different dishes. The rib-eye was very tender and pink in the middle. The tamale presentation in the corn shuck was very appealing. My plate presentation was nice with the purple lettuce cup.
Great evening atmosphere with great service and food. Lunch is a different story. The servers are not near as friendly or attentive. The fur benches, which you cannot really see in the low light of night, are not my cup of tea. The food was still very good. They do scale down the portions and prices for lunch time service.
