A Shining Star in the Lone Star State. This place is amazing. Truly, truly worth every minute, every penny, and every calorie you can spend there. I was craving croissants, so I did a little websearch and saw a listing for Rush Patisserie. After reading a bit about it online, I stopped by for the first time this weekend on a trip to Dallas. I came in for a croissant, and I left with two croissants, two pain au chocolat(s?), and an amazing nutella tart with a perfect crust. My only regret was not buying all of the croissants she had left!
The most important thing to know about this place is that Samantha is a classically trained baker and very talented in French pastries. While I'm sure that the un-cupcake is wonderful, please take my advice and buy the croissants. Any of the them. Plain, chocolate, almond, savory, or whatever else she may have... just do it. You will not regret it. It's really hard to find croissants that really shine, because they are so time and labor intensive, but she puts in the time, puts in the work, and they are amazing.
I will be back. I just wish I lived closer!!!
Yet another fantastic and delicious experience with Rush Patisserie. Do you wish you could go to Paris to try authentic french pastries but dont want to spend 8 hours on a plane? Ask Samantha to make you something amazing ... like these strawberry cream tarts, Mille Feuille, and Raspberry Mousse tarts. Incredible stuff. (She also makes ridiculous Passion fruit-chocolate macaroons - a la Pierre Herme! 🤫)
It is a shame there's no storefront at the moment, but we special ordered the Galette des Rois. It was amazing!! While I never had a Galette des Rois in France, I can't imagine it being any better than the one we got from Rush Patisserie! I can see why they've received so many 5-star reviews.
