Stopped in Angelo's with friends around 9 pm on a Friday night. Luckily for us it was Happy Hour and oysters were on sale for $1 each. Quite a deal compared to other restaurants in Denver. They were big and plump and juicy and a great way to start the evening!
They also had baked oysters which looked fantastic but raw is my favorite way to go.
We also shared the The Californian pizza which is their version of a Veggie pizza. It was loaded with veggies all cooked perfectly.
On ours, we ordered extra sauce, (something I always do. What can I say, I like a saucy pizza) add spinach and add jalapenos. We couldn't have been happier! Of course we enjoyed a myriad of cocktails and they were well made and tasty too.
The lighting, temperature and music ( really great music, Classics R&B) made the experience exactly what you want in terms of details.
It should also be noted that I'm picky about where I sit (looking for great sight lines) and the staff was happy to work with me until I was satisfied.
All in all we closed the place down and loved every minute!
Angelo’s so SOO good!! The Happy hour can’t be beat. FYI: Happy Hour Martini’s are an added $3 coming in at $9. The 8” pizza is enough for 1 person. It was very tasty. Crust was a little too thick for my liking but I would order it again.
Our bartender was so busy and she kept the entire bar moving. She did an astounding job!!
We can’t wait to come back!!
Excellent Italian dining experience. Tasty traditional dishes. Good and attentive service. Bar area is busy and lively. Note that garlic bread, which could use more garlicky seasoning, was served with our dinners, so may not need to order it separately as an appetizer. Definitely worth a trip to perhaps try one of the many pizzas next time.
