unique experience, something diners who aren't familiar with this style will need to get used to but it's going to be a great staple in Detroit! We waited over an hour past our reservation until our table was ready. The service was great but the restaurant was very busy, almost seemed understaffed. Patience is key. The food was heavy but very tasty. For someone that doesn't eat pork I found it to be in almost every dish, however, they can accommodate most things. The miso butter was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Everyone's dish came out at a different time. We had a good laugh taking turns watching our group of 8 eat individually, it is family style and we picked and passed our plates around. I wouldn't suggest going here if you're not the type to share! The chef is a female so kick ass lady!

Visited for Detroit Restaurant Week. Started with the Duck Liver Mousse; the first bite you are unsure but you're left wanting more and so you go for it and all of a sudden your eating more and more, an oddly tasty beginning. Then on to the Charred Cauliflower; this dish is completely wonderful filled with great flavors, a must have. Second course was Forest Bread Pudding; topped with a duck egg sunny side up and some type of delicious little fruit, the flavors all married together so well, incredibly tasty dish. Chocolate Chestnut Tartlet to finish the meal and it was topped with a super tasty pear preserve. Seriously 5 Stars. Loved every bite!

I can't stop smiling. The food. It's gush-worthy. Been to plenty of places. A few, and I mean 1-2 places, have matched this level of playfulness with flavors and overall taste. I don't say this lightly- the food literally sings in your mouth with unexpected bright notes played against beautifully composed flavor combinations. Throughout the meal, my spouse and I were mmmm-ing between conversation. Call me a HUGE fan boy but this is definitely the best place place we've been to in Detroit. Delicious!!!

Probably the most underrated restaurant in Detroit. The service was out-of-this-world incredible and the food was top notch. If you want to be impressed or to impress someone, Republic is the place to be. I will go back without a doubt. Jess the server, ask for her.

What an awesome, decadent and unique dining experience! I highly recommend the chef chosen tasting...it let's you experience food you wouldn't have tasted otherwise. I will say parking is a bit of a bear, but the ambience, food, and service more then make up for it!

I love everything about this place the food is creative and interesting as are the cocktails and wine list. Seating is comfortable and spacious but most of all the people who work there seem happy and are very accommodating and courteous. The first time we went there we were not familiar with the small plates concept but our waiter was patient with our questions about the menu and serving procedure , he made us feel welcome. Last Thursday the host went out of his way to give us the table we wanted - all this and the food was fabulous!

We went in a Sunday evening to celebrate a birthday, 11 of us, enjoyed the Chef's choice meal. Spectacular, outstanding service. We spent almost 4 hours, eating, drinking and laughing. Would highly recommend this place be it an intimate evening for 2 or a party for many. Try it out!!!

Another creative menu, small plates, locally sourced ingredients, craft cocktails, extensive bar, friendly staff. Rustic & antique-like decor. Large, horseshoe shaped bar, comfortable banquets along the window.

The bar staff has always been personal and approachable. Very cool every time I've visited this place. I bring my friends because I know they will enjoy the staff. Oh, and the food is very good. Presentation is a thing here.
