This is probably the 9th or 10th time I've gone to The Old Redford. I very seldom write reviews but this place is just too good to keep to myself! It's really small, there are only a couple small tables but they are expanding. The moment you enter, you know there's something different. From day one I was greeted like old family and there is nothing on the menu that you can't personalize. Want extra pickles? Can you grill instead of fry? Want a special smoothie combo? No problem! It will take a minute to fix, because everything is done just for you like you're in your auntie's kitchen. Seasonings are magnificent, vegetables are fresh, even the chai (which you HAVE to try) is handmade and oh so delicious! Salmon burgers are moist, omelettes are tasty and filling, shrimp po boys make you hollah. There's chicken and rice and and falafels and shawarma. Servings are plentiful, and food is treated like it's designed to make you healthier and happier at the same time. From breakfast, which is super cheap, to desserts, you'll find every morsel filled with love and care and terrific flavor. The menu is small and there are daily specials but the variety is impressive. Always ask about what else they're cooking up behind the counter. I had some vegetable bean soup today (and I'm usually so - so on bean soup) it was divine! I'm stuffed, and already thinking about what to try next time. Enjoy!
This restaurant has been a great addition to Brightmoor! It is a Hidden Gem in our neighborhood. Get a breakfast special and if you've never had beef bacon make sure you try it!
