Asian Fusion Steps from New York Hospital - Queens. Asian Gourmet experiences a crowd during lunch. What a blessing that they do delivery and takeout to relieve table waiting time. It helps business that New York Hospital - Queens is nearby. Although, I believe the underlying reason is that the Asian inspired dishes are tasty. The cuisines represented on the menu are Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, and Vietnamese.
Vermicelli platters with these Asian accents were added recently. I prefer authenticity. Let us not forget that these noodles originated from within these cuisines. The Garlic-Basil Shrimp is my wife's choice. She will separate the scallions. She does not like them, but joyfully makes the rest of the ingredients vanish.
Asian Gourmet has an economical luncheon special menu weekdays. Unfortunately, the vermicelli offerings are not included as luncheon special selections. The small storefront restaurant does have it's charm during less hurried times.
We visited on a Saturday evening at about 630 pm. This is a casual, no frills restaurant. It was a bit busy but the service was quick(we dined in). The menu has a variety of options which was nice(see photos).We ordered hot tea for the table. Our appetizers were fried dumplings, crispy chicken wings and spring rolls. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The edamame is enough for about four adults, we got 10 vegetable rolls and six chicken wings. As main dishes we ordered the pad Thai rice with shrimp, lemongrass chicken with white rice and fish fillet with mixed vegetables. The food was delicious and the service was very quick but did not feel rushed at all! The bill came out to less than $100 for four people which nowadays is impressive.
Side note: the bathrooms were clean. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Came in for a quick weekday lunch since it’s close to the proximity of the hospital I was visiting. I ordered chicken and string beans. The place is very clean and the food came out pretty quickly. Everything tasted fresh and it was reasonably priced.
