Welcome to New England. I agree with the previous reviewer - this place is such a wonderful, small town restaurant with classic New England fare and reasonable prices. The 1950s pine paneling reminds you that you're in a place with real history behind it, before every restaurant became a mausoleum of granite and marble with flat screen televisions blasting from every wall.
For lunch today I had a crock of genuine New England clam chowder, twin lobster rolls, two buttered toasted hot dog buns filled with lobster meat (not langostine!) and just a dab of mayonnaise, served with sweet potato fries and a pickle for $11. Most of the lunch sandwich specials are under $6, and the service is friendly and genuine.
Don't let the outside of Squires fool you. Great food and extremely friendly wait staff. I personally recommend the steak tips or the boiled dinner special. Portions are large here. Squires would be described as a 'locals place'.
Looks like the on movies bar... in a usa place. Nice people and place to eat and enjoy the local food.
