I know some may feel this is not a true Luau, but I found it very informative and entertaining. The food is buffet style, decent but not extravagant. The dancers were excellent, with a variety of dances from different islands/culture, along with a historical explanation.
One of the better shows in Waikiki. The food was very good and they had something for every taste. They even had a kids section for picky kids. The preformers were sharp and did an exceptional job. This is about as good as it gets for a hotel luau. Tip, put the pulled pork in the ube rolls (the purple ones) it is fantastic!
I felt the starlight Luau was a great experience! The performers were talented, happy to be there and put on a great show. The food was delicious and service was great, we got a couple extra drinks comped as well. I felt for the price, I expected a little bit more, there was dancing, music and food, but not much more. I wish there was a pig being carried in or other Polynesian aspects besides the fire show and hula dancing. I also felt the atmosphere/location was a missed opportunity, I wish it was on the beach or better venue than entering through the parking lot where hotel employees were taking their smoke break. The show was fun and entertaining and not too long, meal was good, I just wish there was a little more bang for my buck.
