Had Malasadas here and also at Leonard's bakery. The Malasadas here is quite good and close to Leonard's. You get 3 for $10 and choose 3 different flavours. They were fresh and hot. Loved the original custard and cream Malasadas. I would recommend going here!
I heard about this place in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center food court, and we were in the area so we tried it! Interesting that you have to order in 3s (3, 6 or 12). We opted for the regular sugar coated malasadas, and chose to fill it with ube cream, Nutella cream, and their special of the day, which was strawberry Mango! They do not skimp on the cream, which was awesome! Malasadas are made fresh and piping hot, so be careful! I think the cream filling is a must if ordering here.
I've been wanting to try a malasada for a while and found this location on Yelp. I stayed in Waikiki, and it was a 5 min walk from where I was at. I ordered a cinnamon, Nutella & strawberry cream malasada--the first bite of the strawberry cream melted in my mouth. Before I knew it, 10 seconds had passed, and the first one was gone. They were delicious! I ate all three and ended up ordering another 3.
It's located in the mall at Waikiki in the food court. These were made-to-order malasada and were done within 15 mins which was fast since they were swamped the day I went. I tried Leonard's bakery malasada and waited an hour later that day since people said they had the best. In my honest opinion, penny malasada tasted way better than Leonard's, and you didn't have to wait too long for them. Check this location out if you're in the area!
