This food was very flavorful. I got the bunker hill I believe it was the chicken and shrimp pan seared it was a little spicy and the Denver roasted which was savory and sweet. Our side was the macaroni. The service was slow our drinks didn't stay full, we had to wait between our appetizer and order our entree. Overall it was good.
If you’re looking for a place for lunch or dinner that is slightly more upscale without going too far in that direction, then a good choice is Jonathan’s the Rub, an American food restaurant with Italian options. This local chain has a few locations in the greater Houston area and this one, on Campbell road right next to Interstate 10, is the one I have visited the most times and each time has been pleasant for multiple reasons.
I usually visit here for lunch because the location is very convenient to my job. The lunch menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, salads, Italian foods, and an assortment of other items that include everything from shrimp to porkchops. Whatever taste you’re craving, there is bound to be a food option to match. The dinner menu is similar, with just a few adjustments.
My favorite lunch item to get at this restaurant is the Rub Burger. It’s a large burger topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and jonny sauce. It’s well- seasoned and served with a side of fries. It’s a filling lunch that will satisfy your appetite all the way to dinner, and perhaps beyond. The burgers all include eight ounces of meat, so you are almost certain to leave feeling full, and you might even need to ask for a box to take some home.
For dinner, there are many excellent items, like the chicken parmesan, Denver roast, blackened pork tenderloin, and others. They have vegetarian options as well, and a full bar so that you can find just the right drink to pair with your meal. I have had good experience with the service at this Jonathan’s location, too. And if you like dining outside, they offer that option.
Jonathan’s the Rub is a little pricier than other restaurants. But the slightly more upscale vibe, the attentive service, and the portion sizes make it worth the money. I like the open kitchen concept, too, because you can watch the food as it’s prepared. It’s a good restaurant option overall, and one I recommend for lunch or dinner.
Went here for the 1st time and sat at the bar. The service was quick and excellent, with great suggestions. The Triple Smoke Burger was awesome and the Prickly Pear Tequila Sour was just what I needed. Will definitely return.
