My boyfriend and I are huge fans of Chatters. At first we were a bit skeptical as its a small placed tucked into a busy Washington Ave. There is a never a wait or too busy, which worried us a bit. But our worry changed instantly when the waiter arrived, they are always so friendly! The menu is extensive so I always like to try new things. This week was the chicken kabobs, so good! And the sauce that comes with was just to die for. Not to mention the veggies we fresh and sautéed perfectly- no frozen veggies here!! We love this place because it feels like you're eating at home away from home, you can tell the food is thoughtfully prepared and that they use fresh ingredients. Definitely our favorite go-to weekday spot!
Outstanding! I went to Chatter's on the recommendation of old friends (The Greenleaf’s). The owner is a friend of theirs, Asef. Talk about word of mouth. I had the opportunity to review the menu on line, before I decided it would be a place I would haunt on my next weekend off. The menu looked yummy. I decided to make it my brunch choice for Saturday. We arrived on a lazy Saturday afternoon (barely) for brunch. The place was a very intimate quaint version of fine dining atmosphere; slightly formal looking. My friend and I were dressed very casual.
One of the things I love the most, when I am strolling into the unknown. When I find myself tragically informal in a formal place, I am always impressed by staff that treat me with respect despite the way I show up. I am highly uninterested and irritated with persnickety. Frankly, my money isn't dressed improperly.
The food: When I arrived, I knew I would be torn on selection. I had seen the menu. And, it was brunch. After reflection, I ran with the Reuben. My friend chose the BLT with Brie. I chose the Reuben for more than one reason. First off, it’s a good test. You can mess them up real easy. Second, I am crazy about them. There are those who are considering erecting an altar to them; and those that will exile you for eating them; complete with a no kissing clause to be in effect, until you use half a bottle of mouthwash. I am the erecting the altar; I will forgo kissing and buy the big bottle of mouthwash at Walmart on my way home sort. My friend was the no kissing; and I will close my eyes, while you eat that horror sandwich sort. It was crazy fantastic; as was most of what I have eaten there since. Of particular interest to those who love spirits; my friend had an afternoon cocktail and reported it was one of the best Bloody Mary’s she has ever had anywhere.
The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere inviting to a wide range of patrons. I have had a chance to visit since; and the food and service remained exemplary. I would highly recommend this dining experience no matter what you are wearing. I count it as one of my new favorite restaurants. So much so, that I introduced my friends to Chatter’s by holding my birthday celebration there.
We ate on a Sunday morning May 27, 2018. The 4 of us enjoyed our meals. 3 adults each had a different lunch and our 10 year old enjoyed noodles from the children's menu. There was a good brunch menu too. Good service and the food was delicious. Jeff our waiter. He was very good & friendly.
