If you're getting hot fried chicken - it's damn good. You'll have grease running down your forearms and want some more. If you're getting cold tenders, blech.
Staff loves sliding those doors shut in your face. You'll receive very little customer service no matter your color or creed (we sat and watched, hilarious).
But, there's just something about this chicken. Man it's good.
Two words: king special.
Lots of chicken - the best fried chicken in Houston plus frenchy fries, biscuit and drink. Sub for dirty rice or just buy a family size... You'll wish you got the big one.
Peach cobbler here is awesome too.
Props to the Cruz family for running the best chicken place in the city!!
Oh Ma Gha! When I was young, my mother taught me how to fry chicken. Actually, she taught me how to fry everything. By age 7, I was getting dinner started while she was picking up my sister from dance or some other after school program. As time went by, people began to replace their skillet with the oven, Crisco was replaced with olive oil, and frying became taboo. Over time, I simply forgot how to fry anything at all. If I ever wanted a good ol hunk of fried chicken, I went through the KFC or similar drive through, and I thought that was satisfaction. Lordy, was I wrong! The closest thing to my momma's fried chicken is Frenchy's. It's perfectly crispy, fantastically salty and tastes like home!
You will wait a while, but remember, it's always made to order:)
