I visited Mendocino Farms for lunch and ordered the “Not So Fried” Chicken sandwich with a side of tangy mustard barbeque sauce. The sandwich was delicious and filling, with crispy chicken, herb aioli, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, and pickled red onions on a soft ciabatta bread. The sauce added a nice kick to the sandwich and complemented the flavors well.
The place has a nice environment with plenty of seating options, both indoor and outdoor. It is located next to UCI, which makes it convenient for students and faculty. The service was friendly and fast, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
They also have a variety of other sandwiches, salads, and soups to choose from, as well as local craft beers and wine. I noticed they have a Kids Eat Free promotion on Thursdays, which is a great deal for families. I also saw they have a Peruvian Steak sandwich that looked tempting, so I might try that next time.
Overall, I had a good experience at Mendocino Farms and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh and tasty lunch option in Irvine. It’s not your typical sandwich shop, but rather a place where you can enjoy some creative and chef-inspired dishes with quality ingredients.
Ordered Steak and bacon sandwich. The taste and design of sandwich was amazing. We waited a while to get our food to be delivered to our table. Inside temperature was a little low. Receptionist was friendly. Foods were priced appropriately.
I ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Bacon Sandwich while my friends ordered Peruvian Steak and Most so Fried SS. I have to say the sandwich was good but my steak felt cold. The sauce was okay but at least the bread was crunchy. The Peruvian steak was mediocre and the sauce was spread unevenly. The Most so fried sandwich was made well and tasted good.
