This was our first time in the Keys, and as recommended by our friends, the Hungry Tarpon was the best for breakfast. The menu offers great breakfast options that are far from boring or basic, and the portions are huge for a price that’s much less than what you’d find on a resort. The setting is really neat, with canvas coverings tied amongst the treetops to cover the dining area, with a beautiful view of the water. We enjoyed it so much that we went for breakfast the next day too! The only downside is they didn’t have iced coffee... so we made our own!
We had an awesome time here feeding the tarpon, shopping and relaxing by the water. Cute little shops and if you get the shaved ice, get The Islamaroda. It's great! We went on the charter from here and the guys were awesome. They really helped us, filet the fish and we had them cooked at the restaurant. The restaurant is far from fancy, it's laid back outdoors with a view of everything going on. The food was amazing!!!! The shrimp is the best I've ever had. We love it here. Have ate here 2 days in a row!!! We sat in chairs by the dock and had a crab, shark, tarpon and manatee all right in front of us
Giving this a 3.5 mostly because it was just a fun place in a location with a fun funky vibe. Most seating is outdoors so you can watch the goings on at the marina, including the charter boats going and coming and people hand feeding the huge tarpon. There was also a manatee lounging around. We had lunch here after coming in from fishing charter out of the marina, which was on the same property, and the food was good. They have a fabulous looking breakfast menu, and if we had more time I would come back. There are some open air souvenir shops you can knock around in while you are waiting for your table. Only one drawback ... It was unusually chilly day when we were there, and this place sits right in the path of the north wind.
🔆🌴 Look at this Bloody Mary! It's Amazing!
It's almost like a meal, lol.
Very yummy food, the portions are enormous. Great view, and the most important you will find very entertaining feeding the Tarpon!
FYI: bloody Mary's are $14
The service is a little bit slow.
A great locals place! Wonderful breakfasts and lunches! Sometimes there is a wait, but worth it! Feed the poons while you wait or book a fishing trip!
We were there during Costume party and the kids, band and wait staff was fun. We stopped on the way back from Key West to Key Largo. Best fish Tacos around and the burger was spectacular. Thanks for a great end to a great day.
Tacky Tourist looking for something yummy and we found it. Our family of 3 each had something different.. Fish and chips, fish sandwhich, and shrimp tacos. Although pretty average, I was sold with the perfect crunchy batter on the fried fish and shrimp. While eating we also enjoyed watching the guest feed the tarpon. Very simple outside eatery worth a visit. I will be coming back.
Great food..we had the shrimp burrito and fish taco! Be prepared for a wait! Feed the tarpon !!
Stop here! Eat, feed tarpon and see the fab Keys art. It is a must
Absolute fun! What a great find on the way down the Keys. This waterfront establishment is not short on great comfort food but serves up family laughs with a bucket of bait fish that you feed to the ever present tarpon swimming below the dock. Nice costing versus portions makes this a must stop for anyone in their travels. Stop in and mingle with the "locals"!
Great lunch!. This was a perfect spot to eat a good lunch. You can sit at the bar and look out over the water. The food was really good (some of the best we had on our trip) and very reasonable. Two adults with soda was only $31, not bad at all compared to the rest of the places we went.
Great!. Very happy with everything we ordered. Lobster bisque was great! We had the Blackened fish tacos, shrimp quesadilla, fish basket (large pieces of grouper), seafood basket, grilled grouper sandwich (5 stars). Everything was delish! Small problem with the fried clams (a little overcooked) but server brought us out a new order within a few minutes. Only warning is to sit under covered seating, birds overhead. We will be back on out next trip down.
My wife had their special of the day, stuffed black grouper. Said it will be quite a while before something will top that meal. Portions were generous, and delicious.
I had the fried shrimp basket, which was also excellent. Lightly breaded, well cooked, and again a generous portion.
Had lunch here before going to feed the Tarpon at Robbie's. The service a crappy but that's because they were understaffed that day. The food was good and the view is great. Try the conch fritters.
Stopped to see the tarpon at Robbies. Desided to have brunch here. Great service. Lots of choices on the menu. Food was surprisingly fantastic. Ambience of water side dining under shade trees just added to the overall great experience.
This pla e was recommended by everyone that we talked to. Had a delicious fresh tuna roll, very reasonable. Had a brand new waitress that was great! The giant tarpon that were swimming all around us and being feed by hand was very entertaining. Would recommend for all ages!
We stopped here for breakfast and it was AMAZING! The dish we had was te Hungry Tarpon. It's hash browns, jack cheese, eggs and sausage gravy all on a huge plate with a biscuit as big as your head! Great flavors, great service!
Yummmmmyyyy!!! Service isn't the greatest!! But it sooo good
Shrimp burrito was great! Daiquiris were not so great. Fun atmosphere.
My husband and I ate breakfast here 3 times during our trip to Islamorada. I highly recommend the lobster frittata with hashbrowns. The Alligator Reef Scramble was very, very good one day, and just OK the next. The mimosa was good, actually had champagne in it and was reasonably priced. The service was friendly and excellent one day, another it was a little slow but still friendly. The waitress did get three large parties at the same time, so it really wasn't her fault. The food was good, veiw and atmosphere awesome. Only regret is that we didnt make it there for lunch or dinner.
Great View. What more could I possible ask For!
I had a poor boy shrimp sandwich that was great sitting outside next to the water with family....awesome place to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Super duper relaxed casual atmosphere, and good wait staff.
Good food and good service.. Like stopping there driving down to the Keys to kick back, have luinch by the water and watching those crazy people feed the tarpon. Dog friendly. Love the vendors in the parking lot.
Rustic Florida all the way. Very good food right on the water. Great place for lunch.
Outstanding Dinner. Joseph is a great chef, and each time we go to dinner he suprises us with something new. This place is really understated, but wow, what a suprise when the food comes.
One of the beast places for dinner that I know of in the Keys.
BTW, breakfast and lunch arn't to bad either!
While you are there, check out Robbies for fishing, diving, boat rentals & anything that you can think of for some fun!!!
Fabulous!. The best breakfast- huge portions! Dinner is also amazing. French Carribean Chef Joseph makes fresh seafood, fabulous prime rib, and other delicacies. Wonderful wine list and outdoor seating make this a must-stop and eat restaurant!
Small Place Great Taste!. I love this place, I have to go every time I go back to visit the Keys. Not a fancy restaurant by any means, just a hole in the wall but quite tasty
The shrimp borrito was awsome! Don't forget to feed the tarpon from the dock's out front!
This was a great find -- it's not a palace, but the food was very good and decently priced ($10.95 for a delicious, two thumbs-up shrimp burrito). I would definitely stick to the house specialties (all 4 of us were pleased). Don't forget to feed the tarpon (and hungry pelican) next door; you'll be amazed at how big they are!!
A little pricey. Their prices are a little pricey considering the atmosphere of the restaurant which is basically a diner (unless you can sit outside). There food is okay but feeding the Tarpon is a blast!!!
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was impeccable service, food and a great time. We loved watching people feed and get bit by the tarpon. The food was amazing. I had heard how wonderful this place was so I had to try it for myself. We will definitely be back. The menu had so many great selections I'm excited to try more. I had the shrimp tacos they were amazing. I highly recommend.
So fantastic! We ate here after feeding the Tarpon 🤣. It was delicious 🤤 the staff was fantastic! The food came to us super quickly and was really good 😊 I have never tried conch before so we thought why not and it surprised 😯 me how good it was it’s almost like popcorn shrimp! But it was all really good!
Feeding the Tarpon was pretty cool, and looking at all artifacts, but when it came time to order food, which came out a decent time frame, I ordered the biscuits and gravy, with a side of ham. The ham was so good but the gravy on the biscuits didn't taste that well. But over all it was good
I was bummed they were closed on my last trip through Islamorada but they were updating their system. I made sure I stopped by on this trip for lunch. We had a waterfront table which was fun watching people feed tarpon. We had a grilled and fried fish sandwich both of which were good and local beer. Well worth the stop as in the same area you can enjoy a good meal, shop for gifts, feed the tarpon, or people watch.
Great food, service was really friendly . Cool touristy thing to do. Food was large servings and dessert was to die for. Wat hing ppl feed the fish was fun while we ate and nice views! We recently moved to Marathon and we will be back!
💕💕🏝️Great location, super fun, atmosphere, great food, mediocre service.
The breakfast, pancake tacos were out of this world! And simply the best of the best of the best hashbrowns EVER.
The other food items we had were good, but nothing held a candle to the pancake tacos. I would skip the huevos rancheros for a West Coast version, but I wouldn’t skip the experience of visiting Robbies or this restaurant. It was really great. 😊 🏝️💕🌮
Feeding the birds at your table is optional for you :-) we enjoyed it.
dont forget to feed the giant Tarpons!
Food was very good!! We really enjoyed the macncheese balls!! And the Maui tacos were also great!! Service was a little slow, our guy got bombarded after we sat down. Not sure if this was why but we finished our appetizer before he came back to take our drink order.
Always love stopping and having lunch on our way to or from Key West. Excellent service and delicious food. Along with great views. The Tarpon and pelicans are always great to see also.
One of our favourite places for food on the planet! The menu choice is excellent, food quick and absolutely delicious...there are so many food options locally but this is the only place on the Keys we purposely went back to again!
The setting is beautiful, the waiting staff awesome and for families it is a must! Make sure you feed the Tarpons in the adjoining walkway too (small fees apply).
It is a tourist trap worth stopping at!! Loved everything! The food was great to and just the right portion to have a little left for the iguanas! :)
Feeding the tarpons and sharks was amazing too!
Yummy food, neat environment, unique gift shops, and great entertainment! We enjoyed lunch at the Hungry Tarpon restaurant on our way down to Key West! Highly recommend the BBQ cheese burger, blackened chicken quesadilla, and key lime pie! After eating, we headed down to feed the tarpon - such a fun experience! The tarpon were HUGE! Leaving with full bellies and fun memories is a guarantee when visiting Hungry Tarpon/Robbie’s Marina!
We enjoyed lunch at this Florida Keys iconic place. Stopped for lunch and to feed the tarpon. The crunchy grouper sandwich was awesome as well as the hamburger sliders on Hashbrown crisp buns. Enjoyed our time here. Fun shopping opportunities and photo pops as well.
Nice little spot for lunch after a fun time kayaking! Super crowded, but it was Friday afternoon.
Had the Korean spicy chicken sliders, they were very tasty!
Great place to go and people watch. Feed some tarpons as well as have some food and drinks very laid back atmosphere you won't be disappointed. They have a couple of gift shops on-site and boat rentals as well as paddle boards. Get a drink and sit down on the beach and watch the pelicans fight after the scraps from the fisherman.
Jason is the man. He makes the skinny margaritas in the Keys! The fried conch with the Caribbean sauce is a must. We will definitely be returning soon!
We chanced on this place and it is amazing!!!
The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The staff are busy and are on top of their craft. Food portions are large and prepared perfectly. We had the Conch Fritters, Shrimp platter, Blackened Chicken sandwich with Sweet Potatoe Fries, and Cheeseburger Sliders. In place of a bun for the sliders, they serve them on hash browns. Delicious!!!!.
If you find yourself in South Florida, make the drive to Robbies. We will be back!
Fun spot to watch Pelicans sneak fish from buckets meant to feed to Tarpon and watch people’s reaction to Tarpon 3 feet to 8 feet jump for a fish in others hands.
Danny our server was friendly and professional.
Our party of five enjoyed our selections and thought the food arrive relatively quickly with how busy they were.
I went with the Korean Chicken sliders because they sounded good and they didn’t disappoint! Large portion, crisp, and flavorful!
