The National Hotel is a California landmark. When you stay here you're staying in one of the 10 oldest buildings you can stay in California. It is a magical place. The only way to truly experience it is through the employees, who know many anecdotes on the history of the place. Have a wonderful dinner prepared by Chef Robin and finish with an extraordinary flambe dessert. Then pull up to one of the coolest bars on the West Coast and have Rhonda make you an extraordinary cocktail. It will knock your socks off. Mary, Heather, Candy, Ashley, Cindy and a few others whose names I am forgetting provide the magic that really make this place. Come visit, let them take you back to a kinder simpler time. Sit on the balcony, listen to the quite. It is the perfect bolt-hole when you need a moment away from the world.
Historic ambiance is relaxing escapism. Good service. Enjoyable food options. Nice wine list and dessert selections. Full bar. $$$. 9 hotel rooms. New owner continuing traditions. Say, "Hello, Flora," to resident ghost.
What a wonderful place to stay! Everyone was very nice. We ate dinner there also and it was delicious.
They provided a doggie basket for our pet with dishes, towel, blanket and treats.
I would recommend this to anyone who lives history or just a nice place to stay.
