What a wonderful brunch! Delicious food, great atmosphere and attentive service. Highly recommend the french toast, smoked salmon eggs benedict, beignets and spicy bloody marys.

We had the seared albacore tuna and the clam linguine, both dishes were divine and the ingredients well chosen by the chef himself (I believe, otherwise the quality wouldn’t be as it was). Also, we had the crab cake as a starter. A giant crab cake, not as greasy as they usually are, filled with juicy crab meat - simply one of the best crab cakes I (or we, my fiancé was amazed) ever had - nothing to add.

This is one of the best places in San Diego. The lobster roll is AMAZING and their drinks are great. This is a must visit if you're in La Jolla but even worth the drive if you're not.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience. We had our wedding reception dinner here on Friday April 21st. We had guests from all over the country and they couldn't stop talking about how incredible the food was. We offered chicken, steak, pasta and tuna option. Multiple people said how the steak was the best they have ever had. The portions were huge and quality. Every course was perfect. The service was the best service we have EVER had!! Our guests were even tipping the waiters and waitresses because it was just so attentive and amazing. I could go on and on about how amazing this place was. Our guests will remember this dinner forever. Tanya the event planner was incredible and timely in her responses. She went above and beyond to make our dinner customized and perfect. Can't wait to come back!!

Just celebrated a milestone birthday here with 17 people and we had an amazing time. Restaurant was very easy to work with and even accommodated us when we needed to push it back one night, at the last minute! Every meal was delicious with generous portions. Service was spot on, even with our large group. Thank you Herringbone for a very memorable evening!

This is the best seafood I’ve had in San Diego so far. The ambience here is incredible. The building itself is an old auto body shop turned into a Tuscan seaport diner. The trees inside are real preserved olive trees. The service was excellent and the food was well worth the price. Make sure you swing by the bar and talk to Joe for great conversation and menu recommendations! For dinner we ordered the seafood tower, which was such a great sampler of all their cold seafood. For dinner I had their fish and chips, which was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had anywhere. They use a homemade batter from a local brewery (pizza port) to fry their snapper to a perfectly crunchy yet soft and flavorful breading. I also tried some of their scallops, which were amazing, and their filet, which was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. The brandy peppercorn sauce on top was a great touch. For dessert we tried their coconut brûlée and their lemon blueberry tarte.

Loved the 100+ olive trees, the vibe and atmosphere at Herringbone is perfect for dates nights, family nights or just having a fun evening with friends. Great bar and cocktail menu. Though the wine list can be more extensive, found it limiting. Oysters and lobster rolls were fantastic, a couple vegetarian optiond on the menu would help!

Great ambience. Technically extremely well prepared food. Delicious flavor. Great wine selection and service. Love the trees inside the restaurant and the lighting. Really nice atmosphere. Ordered the filet medium. Nice outer crust and tender medium cooked on the inside. The peppercorn sauce was savory but not overpowering. The dessert was pretty amazing. The sorbet was refreshing and the strawberry tart fresh not too sweet. Great restaurant for a special occasion.

The atmosphere was so Fantastic, the food was so delicious. We ordered 10 dishes most of them are seafood. The seafood tower was great, never forget to order oysters. The waiter was very patient, helpful, and friendly. Can't complain about anything.

5 stars for sure! I’ve been wanting to go here for years and finally made it! Made a reso on open table for the same night. Very cool vibe inside with eclectic mix of songs playing. Definitely on the expensive side for drinks but everything we had was delicious including the aperol spritz. Recommend the petite seafood tower which had great portions of everything. Enjoyed the halibut ceviche the most. Salmon, steak and shrimp for mains all were delicious. Only 3 shrimp with that main so be prepared. Will definitely return.

Wow the last time I was here was 2018 for their $1 oysters. Fast forward four years later and through a pandemic, happy to say that $1 oysters still exists! This place gets busy so we made reservations at 4pm which is also the time that they open. We sat outdoor because I had my dog with me. Very pet friendly and there’s a heater if you’re cold. Parking here can be tricky. They have a small lot like 8 cars if you’re lucky. Otherwise it’s street parking for 2 hours until 6pm. If you get their at 4pm then you’re pretty much set for the rest of the night. May have to circle around a few times or use the paid lot. This street is busy with other eateries such as Burger Lounge and Puesto. Happy hour is from 4-6pm. Same with $1 oysters and it’s only west coast oysters. It was on the smaller end. We ordered everything from their happy hour menu. I got the Caesar salad and margherita pizza. Both are tasty. The salad is enough to share 2-3 max. The pizza was a 12 inch which is the same as their dinner menu but cheaper. It taste better hot. If you let it sit, the cheese will set. Their drinks are delicious. They seem to use jalapeños in a few items like calamari and their drinks. I got Jaleberry which is an infused tequila with strawberry jalapeño with lime and agave. It wasn’t spicy. If you want a little kick then ask for the rim to be sugary spicy. It came out perfect!

I rarely do we views, but I must say this restaurant definitely deserves it. I came for my birthday June 17th (1st time here) it was a great! decision. Everything was perfect the atmosphere, service, food and decor was beautiful 😍. Our waiter David was very accommodating with whatever we requested, he checked to make sure everything was to our liking. A manager (sweet women) also came to our table to see how everything was going and to make sure the food was good :). We arrived at 8:15pm (closing time 9:30pm) David didnt make us feel like we needed to hurry with our ordering.... He was very patient and extremely helpful with questions about the menu. David will definitely be one of the reasons for us coming back :). I left there with a smile, it was beautiful evening.

The food was amazing! A group of us decided to go here on a whim while looking for a restaurant for dinner. The seafood was amazing, especially the seafood tower and octopus. The desserts were also amazing and the coconut crème brûlée was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. I’d definitely return and recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great meal!

Love the ambiance here, it’s fun and clever and comfortable. Their drink menu might be my favorite part. I like to go tapas style here, I love their appetizers and small plates. I am not a huge fan of their entrees. 4 stars only because I feel this place used to be better a few years ago, and it seems their quality has slipped a bit. Maybe I caught them on an off night. Still a great spot for a fun dinner.

The atmosphere has almost a cabana style feel to it with occasional live music. Great natural lighting available from any angle for all your photo needs. The food is amazing I have ordered about half the items so far and have yet to be disappointed. There is food for non meat eaters available as well. The selection of oysters are from around the world and well worth the price. The staff is always amazingly pleasant and willing to assist with any questions you have.

If you're having a wedding at the Cuvier Club and are looking for a location within walking distance for your rehearsal dinner try The Herringbone La Jolla. My son and his fiance at the time had wanted to try this place. As the mother of the groom and responsible for the dinner my main concern was their menu being a vegetarian. They did have a wood fired pizza that sounded delicious. Opting to use their private loft space they requested we use their group dining menu. With three price options only the first one contained a dish I would eat. The loft space was cozy and allowed for cozy which was great due to the live music from downstairs. Appetizers were shared and set down the length of the table. Choice of soup or salad and four main course options. They even allowed one guest to opt for some French fries. Shared desserts again set down the table offered choices of fruit or cookies. The staff was nice and attentive and the food was really good.

Came here for a wedding reception. 3 course meal plus chefs selection for dessert and it was excellent. The guacamole was the best I can remember. The shrimp were huge and well cooked (the cocktail sauce was bland, however). The Caesar salad was very good with a nice pungent flavor. They cooked my Filet to a perfect medium rare. Extremely tender steak. Would go back for other special occasions.

The restaurant feels like a fairy land. The ambiance is magical -- trees covered in twinkle lights are matched by bleached wood design and natural lighting, giving you the feeling of eating outdoors without actually being there. Then the food is delicious and magnificently plated

We had a hankering for oysters, so we stopped in for their "Oyster Hour." Only had a dozen and two Jaleberry cocktails (jalapeno/strawberry tequila), but we definitely enjoyed them and the overall atmosphere. Cool spot. Oysters were small, but seemed very fresh. Would definitely return to try an entree sometime. Also, I liked that, though there were plenty of open tables they had us wait due to them being short staffed. Better than many places that will sacrifice service just to not turn away business.
