Rooster's - very enjoyable. Rooster's was a much needed boost to the lack of stability in this location. I can't begin to tell you how many restaurants have set up shop and closed in this exact spot over the last 10 years. I think what's made Rooster's the exception is their pricing, laid back setting, and decent special offers during the weekdays. They also have some good coupons if you're on the Lexington mailing list and receive that big coupon book every few weeks. I usually cut those out and use them during lunch or make sure to visit during Mondays / Thursdays. The food is pretty tasty. Wings, beer, salads, hoagies, pizza, there's really something for everyone. They also let you mix the wing flavors, which are really delicious and different from typical sauce choices. I also love the HUGE wooden booths and TV screens. The restaurant also has a very open feel where you can see everyone, but have a sense of privacy where you don't need to shout over loud music to have a conversation like most other wing places. There's definitely a family-friendly vibe here, and the staff is always super sweet and accommodating. I really like this place and hope they stick around for the long haul. And by the way, the wings are MASSIVE. Do you like drumsticks that are actually the size of drumsticks? Look no further. Put this on your list of places to try. Two people can easily share wings, beer, and appetizers for under $30. If you can get through 10 wings by yourself, you'll be stuffed!
Awesome food. I've been to Rooster's several times since it opened and have never been disappointed. The service has always been top notch (even on busy game days) and the food has always been excellent.
Of course the wings are the specialty. Wings are always hot, large, full of flavor, and priced VERY well. (I go for garlic-donkey) You won't get wings this big or this good anywhere else in Lexington. I had a burger and a pizza recently too. The burger was a giant, juicy handful of beefy goodness and the pizza was a pleasant surprise in a place famous for wings.
Don't let the whiners scare you off. Rooster's is a fantastic new joint in a town that DESPERATELY needs some better food choices. If they want to get ripped off at the local Buffalo Wild Wings, dirtball Hooter's, or some white trash dive bar for crappy wings, let them. Rooster's will blow all of those places away.
I'm not always huge on chain places, but Lexington finally has a restaurant worth checking out, don't let this one pass you by.
Try the Thai Chile sauce. Had lunch on Sunday with the Family and this was the second time at this location and the food was good. Looks like a great place to hang for a game and have some beers with large group. The Thai Chile sauce wings were especially good. Salads are good size and service is good.
