Average, or slightly above average, Americanized sushi - recently ordered the Boston Roll (salmon, avocado, seaweed, sushi rice, and topped with salmon), the Crunchy Munchy Roll (fried crab stick, cucumber, avocado, Sriracha, and topped with tempura crunch, shrimp and eel sauce), and the Crab Rangoon Roll (cream cheese, crab and scallion rolled in sushi rice and tempura-fried, and topped with teriyaki and sweet chili sauce).
There are many options for better sushi in Lexington - please visit Sugano, Miyako, Tachibana, etc. for "real" sushi.
Surprised by other reviews. I am honestly surprised that other people have had a bad experience with Aqua. I'm no sushi expert- not even close. But the pictures provided on this Urbanspoon page are literally exactly what the sushi looks like, every time. It's fresh, flavorful, and appealing to the eye. Eaten at Malone's or ordered through takeout, it's great. Their spicy california roll is my favorite that I've found of any sushi restaurant thus far (actually one of my favorite foods overall).
This is some of my favorite sushi I have ever eaten. Lexington is starting to become a lot more accepting of sushi and this is a great place to start. They have a little bit of something for everyone. Tame, all cooked rolls for beginners and sashimi or complex rolls for sushi lovers. They get creative too. Try the crab Rangoon roll... Think a cross between California roll and a Chinese crab Rangoon. And you can bet it's always fresh. Would definately recommend to friends.
