This is old fashioned fried chicken at its best. It is not health food. If you are a 'foodie' go elsewhere. But if you want great old fashioned fried chicken made by in a place that the locals love, this is the place to go.
You can eat in, but the dining area is small and reminiscent of the 1970's - never been updated. Take out is what most people do.
We love it and go back when we need something basic.
Go for the fried chicken (and not the burger).
Signage to the place is terrible. Drive on Business US 11, and turn at the Southern States gas station. Drive by Ace Hardware / Farmers Coop. Turn left and go up the fairly steep hill, past the used car place and Kenny's will be on your right, at the end of this short street / driveway.
There is a small dining area, but most people elect to takeout.
Had a milkshake and their burger with their signature sauce. Milkshake was strawberry with banana and was quite good. The burger is advertised as a 2oz burger and looks about right. I wasn't a fan of the sauce as it was ketchup based and the flavor was most ketchup. However the patty was well cooked.
It's one of those all time great places. The food is the focus and nobody really cares about the rest of it. Fits into the same category as places like The White House in Atlantic City NJ, Wright's Dairy-Rite in Staunton VA. I'm sure part of the charm and allure is the memories. Today I had fresh hot fried chicken and those biscuits. When those biscuits are hot they are one of the top all time foods.
