This little hidden gem is off the beaten path but very worth the trip. This bar b que is as good as any I have eaten.
This place absolutely one of those mom and pop shops who hit it right. The atmosphere, the food, and especially the smoked brisket. I'll be going back!

Honestly, if you come to Lexington Virginia, and don't explore a couple of side roads to hit up this bad@$$ BBQ joint then you probably don't deserve to taste this kind of heaven. This is one of those small businesses that provides big service and even bigger quality! Including everything from fresh made from scratch daily deserts, to deviled eggs, potato salad, brisket, pulled pork and more! Just take a peek at the menu sometime. Wash it all down with a cold glass of sweet ice tea, or cold Dr. Pepper. Beameup is a small eat in type café/diner with excellent and friendly service. Their restaurant is clean and decorated quite perfectly for a BBQ place. With big open windows over looking the woods creek and local Lime Kiln Road, Beameup is just a hop skip and jump on the outskirts of town, but well worth the one extra minute it takes you to drive there. Scott and Robin Hayslett- owners, support local artists, and this local artist will forever support the best BBQ and Brisket I have ever had! If they have the pulled pork Chili on special- you better give it a try- holy WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent BBQ option in Lexington. Friday rib plate special is a massive portion and expertly smoked. I've had several items and all are excellent. Love their deviled eggs and potato salad. It's small inside so be patient if there's no where to sit or park, it's worth the wait!
Well barbecued pork on the platter with a solid cornbread. Honestly, the green beans were not as well flavored as I like but they were fine. Plus it was winter so you can't expect Summer fresh flavor. The spicy sauce was milder than I expected and I would have welcomed a good bit more heat. The portions were ample and the level of informality was nice. This is a local favorite and it's off the beaten path.
We were in town for a lacrosse game at W&L and needing to feed 45+ players. Scott could not have more accommodating and was prompt with the delivery to the field. Combo of pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese with cornbread.
Food was outstanding and the players got back on the bus quite full for a 5 hour ride back to Washington College.
Great job and thank you.
This cute BBQ place is definitely a treasure. The pulled pork is fantastic, the owner is super nice and helpful, and the place is immaculate. We will be back for sure to try other menu items. Thank you for such a treat!!
Scottie's delicately smoked Pulled Pork BBQ is as good as I remember, some of the best in the region and apparently (and amazingly) does not diminish in quality even as he steps up production 10 fold or more to accomodate the increased demand of a W&L graduation. -Thanks Scottie and good to see you.
