I was down.
I was discouraged.
I was not myself.
In need of some vegetarian fare that would nourish my body and uplift my soul. I my googled “vegetarian food that nourishes
my body and uplifts my soul.” And cafe gratitude popped up. So I grabbed my card like key of my eco conscious electric vehicle and braved the traffic of Los Angeles to begin my veggie-centric soul quenching dining experience.
Upon arrival I was seated in a beautiful shaded Al fresco environment. I scanned the crowd and it felt approachable, it was like the erewhon crew had a baby with Trader Joe’s shoppers. I liked it.
Then my waiter, a strapping young man, who most likely plays does light commercial work as his true career came to my table and asked me what I was grateful for.
In my state of despair I could not conjure an answer and he graciously said. “My friend, life can be tough but we at cafe gratitude are here to lift you up when you are down.”
I said. “Thanks”
He said. “Would you like to start your order?”
I said. “Why don’t you pick me some things you love and let’s go from there.”
And pick things i love he did.
It started with the I AM DELECTABLE.
A beautifully spiced corn rib with a nice cooling sauce. I grabbed this planty rib and nawed on the cobs and the flavor bomb started to take me on a transcendent journey.
Next I had the YO SOY FUERTE. A Veggie forward boogie Crunchwrap and after I sank into that I felt stronger. I felt like my soul building its soulful muscle and spotting me through my fight with despair.
I then finished my meal with an I AM CLEANSED. And I felt both my palate and my inner spirit being washed cleaned and renewed.
After going on this culinary journey my waiter said.
“Mi Amigo (that’s Spanish for my friend) how was the meal?”
I said. “I AM TRANSFORMED. I AM GRATEFUL.”
We then engaged in a teary eyed embrace and went our separate ways.
Suffice it to say I AM BLESSED. I AM GRATEFUL. I AM CHANGED. Because of my meal at cafe gratitude.
Even for non vegans highly recommendable! Most probably one of the best vegan restaurants / cafés I’ve been coming across so far. For LA it definitely sets the new standard high - which is wild, fabulous just amazingly tasty.
Have a look below it was just great !
A matter of time till you won’t get space there
Very friendly service !
I had the "chicken" and waffle plate. I'm not vegan, but the "chicken" (mushroom) was tasty and crunchy; I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very patient and understanding with us and were able to accommodate our group, which included children. I parked on a side street since their parking was full and very limited. Overall, it was a lovely Sunday brunch.
