Have come here many times. Usually for a bite or drink before a game or event at Staples Center. They know this is the case, which is why they bring the food out so fast, and the staff is attentive. My friend and I shared the blue crab cakes (a special); it was ok. The farmers market was drenched in dressing, and somehow still lacked flavor. The highlight was the pizza. We had the grilled vegetables pizza. The crust was really good. The dessert, a apple crumble, also felt short. But, I've had better food here in the past, and that's why they get 4 starts instead of 3.
Staying downtown and trying to decide what to eat we tried WP. Trendy at LALive. Lots going on. Quick seating on a busy night. Appetizer tatortotte nachos were pretty freaking delicious. Ordered the sausage pizza which wasn’t bad either. 2 people for under $50. Not bad for the area and the food
A good choice for a bite and a cocktail at LA Live. The restaurant sits on the main square at LA Live and is good for people watching especially from the outdoor seating. The food is good if a little on the pricey side. I favor the pizzas since WP does them so well and his influence can be felt (and tasted) here. Pictured is the Spicy Sopressata and Salami Toscana with Pepperoni, roasted onions and Green Chilies. It was a perfect balance of sweet, spice and savory flavors. The Sweet Potato Fries in the background were perfect fried and served hot with a sweet dip. Service was good but not excellent owing to the pace of the restaurant which was bustling. Overall, Wofgang Puck Bar and Grill is a tasty, enjoyable experience.
