Find me a better Japanese soup, and I'll race there to start ramen it into my face!
Great vibe, great price, fast service and large portions together make this a killer place!
it's a solid bowl regardless, but if you live in east LA or even further east than that, this is your best and closest option. parking in the area sucks, the shop is small, and there is often a long wait, but i've never disappointed even then. the tonkotsu is delicious without being too thick/heavy, and the pork belly is a generous, tender portion. their tsukemen is deliciously flavor-packed (they will warn you if you're unfamiliar that it's a "fishy" broth - which makes sense because i've known people who have returned it not realizing what they were ordering). their karaage is decent, and i definitely like the rice bowls you can get as a "combo" with your noodles - they even added a salmon poke bowl recently to stay on-trend.
Favorite ramen place on the East Side. Haven't been to Daikokuya in a minute because I just keep going to this spot.
The pork belly here is the business. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The pieces are so thick you could slap someone in the face with it and temporarily phase them.
Come early or be prepared to wait. Don't be super Asian and roll like 14 people deep because you may never sit down, which would be a shame because it's so damn good.
