Such an amazing little place to stumble upon, it is everything you want in a small BBQ restaurant. The restaurant had such a warm and homey feeling that you can’t find in most restaurants. The bread was so buttery and doughy and delicious , the BBQ beans were great and the potato salad was nice and cold. The chicken was incredibly tender and didn’t need a knife, it shred perfectly with just a fork. The sweet BBQ sauce is good, but the spicy one was a bit watery. Overall, would happily go back again.
Nice quality BBQ joint. No frills classic style. Tried the pulled pork, hot link, beef rib, and brisket. All were fine. More of the wet style than char. I used their spicy bbq sauce, great flavor. Would prefer to be a bit thicker. For sides, I tired the macaroni and potato salad, plus coleslaw. All good, macaroni was my favorite. Nice fresh baked bread too.
IF you eat right here, you cannot possibly leave this place comfortably. I leave totally engorged every time. One of these times, I may just roll away down the street. Seriously though, living a few blocks away, this place is very accessible to me, and I like to go at least once a month. I usually order the brisket meal, or brisket sandwich. The ribs are very good, too. For California, this place is mad decent. This particular photo comes from a post-convention dinner outing just before Halloween 2023, where I took a bunch of folks out after the con, and they all absolutely praised the **** out of your food. Everyone loved it. Not a plate with anything left on it in sight when we were done. LOVE THIS PLACE. Great service, wonderful food, and though the place is very tiny on the inside, it gives it a kind of charm about its ambiance.
