3.75/5 for food but rounded up because the atmosphere and service was nice
really good, recommend:
- any mezcal cocktails
-squash blossoms appetizer
-chile Serrano green salsa & red salsas
The chapulines (crickets) were tiny and too lime-y; the cecina in the tlayuda was dry, and the overall taste was rather bland/boring. I wish they had a nut-free mole option, I think that’s probably the entree to get at Madre
I think they could also benefit from lower entree prices and flour tortillas as a substitution option (the corn tortillas are dry, bland, and too crackly)
I had the pleasure of having lunch at this Mexican restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful experience. We chose to sit outside on the terrace with my friends and it was very pleasant. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the ambiance felt tropical with high top tables and lush plants.
The service was top-notch as the staff was kind and reactive.
While I can't speak for all the specialties on the menu as a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed the salad I ordered. It was fresh, generously portioned, and paired perfectly with a refreshing iced tea.
First time at this great Mexican restaurant. I really enjoyed the Beef Barbacoa plate. Comes with fresh, homemade tortillas, salsas, black beans. SUper flavorful. Drinks are fantastic 👌. They have an impressive Mezcal selection. Street parking is accessible. Happy hr mon-Friday, 3-6pm.
Service was excellent. Juan was super helpful and knowledgeable.
