Definitely has a higher end vibe, but still very cool! Been there a few times and the food is always great. The service is spot on and everyone is friendly. If you are in the area looking for a great brunch spot, definitely give it a try! Especially if you want a great cup of coffee, they serve Intelligentsia which is DELICIOUS, albeit very strong.
The only reason it gets 4 stars, and really I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, is that the food is just a little bit...uninspired, as in I wasn't surprised by any of it. Everything tasted great and of high quality, but lacked that special touch some places seem to put into the food.
With that said, I haven't tried everything and will be definitely going back for more brunch!
The Pastrami and Egg burger (see picture) was delicious and highly recommended. The pastrami just fell apart perfectly!
What a fun place! This is an updated diner with plenty of good food. They make their roasts, root beer 🍻 in house. Everything was so so good. Our server Lynn was super friendly and even though they seem a bit short staffed she was attentive and always had a big smile when she served us.
Eleven is the perfect addition to Mid-City with its old school charm with new school flare. The menu reads like your usual classic deli menu covering all the staples: corned beef, pastrami, cold cuts, matzo ball soup, real root beer, classic cakes and ice cream, all topped with an in-house candy bar and deli counter.
The staff is still in training but everyone is really nice and excited to be there. We did have wait a while for a table for 2, at 7pm, on a Wednesday because they had to find more menus, but still the staff is great.
I had the half sandwich and soup (matzo ball and pastrami) for $17. The soup alone was enough to fill me up but I obviously had to try the coleslaw and pastrami. The matzo ball soup was really simple, one giant matzo ball and broth - light flavor but hit the spot. The coleslaw was a little soupy for my taste but the pastrami was fine. Nothing mind blowing but a solid sandwich and soup.
I will definitely be back to try their breakfast (which is all day) and their bloody mary which I've heard is delicious - we shall see.
Go after 7pm during the week and you can usually find street parking. If not you can park in the back for $7. On the weekends they apparently have valet.
