Wonderful spot, great food. This was a nice experience to eat Sunday lunch at this legendary restaurant. Everything was delicious, the service was nice and friendly. The interior seems to be very original as it was for years in a good sense. By the way I got a specially made vegan burrito for me. Just simple but yummy beans, guac and raw onion wrapped in tasty tortilla, delicious. I would appreciate a one single fully plant-based item on the menu. I believe, people would like it!
Fun kitschy Californian Mexican place. Very Hollywood vibe.
The rice and beans have no lard or meat broth (I called ahead and asked and also reconfirmed with our waiter), so it's great for vegetarians. But lactovetetarians, because all of the vegetarian options on the menu have cheese. And are delicious.
My fellow diners enjoyed their chicken fajitas (note if you order a "fajita" it's a regular one, with meat, onions, peppers, etc, but if you order a "fajita plate" it comes with no vegetables - I found that part a bit confusing).
Sitting on the patio was nice.
We stopped for a cocktail at El Coyote on our last trip to Hollywood. What a great looking place! The vibe was a throwback to a few decades ago, and worth a walk around. The staff was friendly, and the chips & salsa were tasty. I ordered the El Coyote Margarita. Fair warning: the margaritas are very strong. After our drinks we asked if we could take a look around, and they happily obliged. We found the booth they used in "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood", and took a few pics. The entire restaurant has a great vibe, and no matter where you might sit for dinner you'd be hard-pressed to not feel California Cool. It's a great place to stop in after or before a movie at the New Beverly Cinema down the street, too.
