Perfectly serviceable Mexican food for gringos.
Service: A high point. Both our waitress and a young man who had been moved to the front of the restaurant were friendly and attentive.
Ambiance: Fine. Naugahyde booths. Linoleum floors. Kind of what you'd expect from a restaurant in a strip mall in a dingy part of LA.
Food: Really a letdown. There was nothing awful, but nothing great either. Guacamole was lacking salt, onions, chiles, cilantro, etc. Carne asada was tough and lacking in seasoning. Salsa seemed to come from a bottle.
If this was small-town America, I'd give this restaurant a better rating. They did nothing hideously wrong. I expect a highly-rated Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles to have something that resembles actual Mexican food. This is not that place.
Great food&service. The bean dip is awesome!
Food is good but with Joselitos right down the street, they need to do better.
