It was absolutely fabulous. We had the chefs choice which was the best deal of the night. First course was asparagus and leek soup absolutely divine! Second course was a white bean puree with sautéed spinach and garlic scallops. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the white bean puree and spinach was so delicious you truly wanted to lick your plate. The third and last course was a Caramelized pear bread pudding with wild blueberries and a simple butter sauce. I am not a fan of bread pudding but the artisan cheese and fruit tray was something I could always have. Each course was served with a 1/3 glass of a wine so that was quite interesting and very delicious. What a wonderful place to experience the atmosphere and menu. The chef is truly top-notch. Even though it was a three course meal it was very light, very flavorful and you don't feel over full. It looks like a big old house that was converted into a restaurant as there are different levels of steps to walk up to with different dining areas what a great place. I would go there again.
Superb service, fantastic pairings, clever mixes of ingredients. Favorite place in Madison, most especially the bar. Terrific drinks served by VERY personable and knowledgeable, hard-working bartenders. Keith in particular is the best. Highly recommend the Otto's Sampler with an Apple Royale... or a Lemon Drop. Discovered this gem nearly twenty five years ago, and it has yet to disappoint. Try their Chef's Tasting Menu, with the wines... fabulous. Love it!
Hidden behind some foliage along Mineral Point Rd. in Madison, WI is a true gem of a restaurant, a culinary delight in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our entrees were delicious and the waitress was exceptional, always observant and anticipating our every need. I recommend this great dining experience!
