I love ice cream and I think Cold Stone has some of the best around. In case you're not familiar with the chain, they offer several flavors of ice cream (as well as sorbet, gelato, lemon ice and sherbet) and dozens of mix-ins. You can either make your own creation or use one of their suggested combinations. That concept will have varying appeal. But I think what makes Cold Stone truly great is the quality of their pure ice cream. It is somewhat expensive as ice cream goes but still well within reach for most people. For my family it was an affordable and delicious (though certainly not low-calorie) supper.
This particular location is on State Street one of the hippest places in Wisconsin. State Street connects the Wisconsin Capitol Building to the University of Wisconsin campus. It is usually buzzing with activity, especially in the later evening. Mostly populated by college-aged people but with considerable diversity.
Cold stone was super friendly and helpful with my nut allergy that I have. They made sure to prepare everything in a separate area for me with clean materials and they didn't seem troubled by it at all. If I ever make my back to the area I'll make sure to stop by again.
Was surprised with a Tall, Dark & Delicious cake from here for my birthday, and it was definitely a good one! I'm. Not much of a chocolate ice cream fan, but this cake was beyond amazing. Everyone loved it!
