Stopped here while strolling on a really windy evening and had some really good coffee with an assortment of cakes and cookies. We ordered the cherry financier, blueberry financier, touchoco cookie and few other things. Some really good food!
Whilst walking around the Upper west side and Chelsea, I just had to stop by Maison Kayser. I had heard so much about it, and honestly I couldn't stop myself from entering after smelling all the delicious sweets being baked in the cafe. The artisan boulanger serves up a range of sweet breads (mostly) and loaves, along side cakes and other dessert logs. I asked for the most popular variation and was given the white chocolate bread. This was a really delicious sweet treat for the day - lightly crunchy on the outside and deliciously smooth on the inside. Service was also incredibly friendly here, and I loved the advice and opinions they shared about the food with me :)
Eric Kayser, a fourth generation Master Baker, is known for his high quality ingredients, slow fermentation and artisanal process which makes up the heart of his operations. At the breakfast he shared just how fastidious his entire team is about serving quality goods, every single time at every one of his worldwide locations
Maison Kayser always ensures its products to be of the highest quality and their New York operations are overseen by a team of highly skilled personnel including Chef Olivier Reginensi and master baker Yann Ledoux.
The show of cakes and pastries are so tempting! The cakes all looks absolutely stunning! I tried the Almond Croissant and Chocolate Eclair. Unlike some almond croissants I've had elsewhere, this one is not just a plain croissant with pieces of almond flakes, there are paste of almond laced inside the croissant, which gave it a nice & subtle sweet flavour. The chocolate eclair was nice too, the chocolate cream inside was light and not sweet. The only downside was the confusing service. I originally intended to have a sit down meal, but you can't do that unless you order from the menu, rather than just pastries & coffee, so I ended up just buying at the counter to go. I placed my coffee at the pastry counter as well, instead of separately at the coffee counter, which seems to created a whole lot of confusions. I ended up waiting for about 15 minutes, watching a whole lot of people who ordered after me getting their coffee before me. Next time skip the coffee (not good anyway) just stick with the pastries.
Amazing coffee and croissant! This is a good patisserie to visit anytime of the day! Eggs aren't their strong point but still edible! Have a sample of their cakes with latte and you won't regret it! Service is excellent!!
Pistachio eclair. A bit of a snooty place, but got good service. It's expensive. I had a pistachio eclair that was crazy good, and their pain au chocolat was incredible too. I watched them pull the shots for my iced coffee and it took a good three times longer than it should, which was reflected in the overextracted bitter taste. It's pretty commercial, but they know how to make a good pastry. I'd visit somewhere like Glaser's for a bit more personality.
What a treat it was to meet one of my favorite bakers at one of my favorite artisanal French bakeries!    We were treated to a “Holiday Preview Breakfast” where we tasted a scrumptious array of Kayser’s fall breads and desserts along with specials off the menu. Â
We had breakfast here every single day during our stay in NYC. The food was great and the service amazing - shout out to Rajmonda who was our waitress the whole time. We felt very welcomed 🙌🏻
On Broadway near W72nd st., subway station,
Walk to shops, banks, theater & spas, Lentil soup
could use less salt! 2 servers trying their best for an aisle full of hungry patrons on a busy lunch hour.,Outdoor tables,as well, Avocado. Toast with green tea hits theepit
My wife and I dine at this location for breakfast practically every day during our visits to the City, which are often. The selection and quality of the food are very good, the hot coffee is superb, and the staff is professional and attentive. Rajmonda and her colleagues do a wonderful job serving guests, particularly given how busy the restaurant can become mid-morning. The organic oatmeal, yogurt granola parfait, belgium waffle, quiches, and skillet eggs are great choices.
Can you believe this is the first time I have ever set foot inside a Le Pain Quotidien? I am not sure why that is but I finally got a chance to sample their fare at one of their newest location in the upper west side. This new location opened last month and is on the corner of 76th and Broadway which formerly was the home of Maison Kayser.
The space is beautiful, bright, and clean, with white marble counters and blond wood accents. The baked goods are gorgeously presented in the glass case by the entrance. The staff here are super friendly; was greeted as soon as I walked in and made to feel welcome.
I ordered the mixed berry tart and a raspberry rose macaron. The tart was fantastic! The berries tasted very fresh, the cream filling was so tasty, and it had a nice crust. The macaron, surprisingly, was just alright. Props for presentation but I wished it were fresher. The bottom portion of the macaron was already soft from being in the case too long. I can imagine this being a dynamite dessert when it is from a fresh batch, but I think I came too late in the day.
Prices are what you would expect for the UWS, so for me, it’s a little bit of a splurge but it doesn’t mean I won’t be back. On this visit, I opted for a couple of baked goods to go but made a mental note to try table service on my next visit.
Small venue with good cappuccinos and good pastries. Have gotten pastries from here overtime to go - love the egg tart. Also have sat either for coffee. They do full on service, no sit in and grab but overall, very nice and recommend.
This morning I was having a bad morning and I came to this location to grab just a coffee. The person behind register was very energetic and polite. She convinced me to get a almond croissant which I loved because it was so fresh. I will definitely return.
Great selection of healthy breakfasts and brunches. Delicious healthy foods, big portions, vegan options. Large americano American size and massaged kale in a salad nail it!
My wife and I had a really nice breakfast here. Our waiter was funny and the food was amazing.
My go to breakfast spot. The service is hit or miss, but plenty of options for breakfast compare to other places in this area. I like their oatmeal, skillet eggs and pastries.
Fantastic and friendly location, but Rajmonda brings this place alive with her friendly smile, warmth, and care for her customers. She makes me feel welcome not just in this location, but in New York as a whole.
LPQ is one of my favorite places to go for a take out. Service is phenomenal staff are very respectful & work at a fast pace. I would recommend all my friends to go there for a brunch or maybe a dinner just to enjoy their time.
The cuisine was outstanding, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was welcoming. The meal left me feeling refreshed, and the attentive manager made our dining experience truly enjoyable.
Really great pastries! My mom usually avoids all sweets but raved about how great the coconut pastry from this bakery was! Highly recommend!
Enjoyed a good breakfast: good cappuccino and yummy pan au chocolat. I also had their mushroom and gruyère quiche which was delicious. Service was good as well. This is my second time here and highly recommend it.
I hate to say it but the previous reviews are from tourists whose expectations are way too high for a quick service establishment. I am actually a New Yorker and this place is great. Particularly the staff - everyone is warm and welcoming. From the cashiers to the baristas to the servers. My go to order is oatmeal with fresh fruit and a plain croissant. The chef is always consistent. It’s also a nice place if you want to bring your laptop and get some work done.
It was Thanksgiving, I get it was crowded, but one of the ladies making the coffee was a little rude for no reason.
Was looking for a nice breakfast place to eat and this place definitely hit the spot! Had a great experience here and the food was great. Look out for Johel, he’s part of what made our experience so great!
