Fun and lively restaurant with great service. Food was good, but could have had a little more flavor (maybe that’s just a Spanish problem rather than the restaurant).
Sangria was also delicious, good for big groups if you can book the side room with the long table.
Fantastic food, professional and friendly service. I really enjoyed my Paella and would definitely come back for more. Highly recommend.
My friend and I were in the mood for paella and chose Socarrat, which is the most popular paella bar I’ve been to in NYC.
We came here last weekend and it was extremely hot outside, but we were seated outside in the patio with minimal air flow. There was a fan, but it was not directed our way and we were sweating through the entire meal. The water had no ice in it and was lukewarm, too. It would be lovely on a cooler evening, but I would not recommend sitting outside on a hot day unless you want to dine in the heat.
For food, we ordered:
- Socarrat Paella ($33+ per serving, min. 2)
- Ensalada de Burrata y Tomate Heirloom ($19+)
- Patatas Bravas ($11+)
- Flan ($9+)
The Socarrat Paella was very tasty and flavorful, with chicken, chorizo, shrimp, white fish, squid, mussels, cockles, fava beans, peppers and tomato sofrito.
The tapas we ordered were ok. I wish they had smaller tapas options for a lower price, so we could try a bit of everything.
Socarrat is a great place to come with a group of people so you can share and enjoy a variety of tapas and paellas. Hope to be back again for a cooler dining experience next time.
Highly recommended for a visit during restaurant week in 2023 as a group if 2 or 4.
Highly recommend the paella options, and if possible eating in the indoor seating option.
The tapas portion is slightly small for us they do taste good tho. Overall I love the food especially the desserts. we had a great time there. We sat outside and the weather was nice that day. The decorations in their restaurant were nice. We loved it.
The restaurant week menu was a good pick. Everything we had, I’d order again. Place is consistent. A must visit. Good outdoor chill vibe.
was a great restaurant. i really liked the food and drinks. it wasn't very child friendly, but was ok. i had a good time overall . i recommend it
Omg I loved dining here! The staff was super friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. Drinks were good and I just loved the spot. Paella is top tier- and they made me feel so special with my bday! I can’t wait to return !
Went here during restaurant week '22. The garlic shrimp was really good and it is a must to dip the bread into the oil 👨🍳💋. The Brussel sprouts were cooked well. And the paella was delicious, the rice was cooked el dente and cooked right, but I wished it was slightly softer (asian rice soft), but everything was so flavorful. The sangria was a nice pairing to everything. Finished off the meal with crispy churros.
We walked in here after an art gallery event randomly and so glad we did. Everything from service to food is top notch. The owner visited our table too, Lolo, it was a lovely evening. We will definitely be back!
Overall good meal and good service. Went for restaurant week and got to try both Paellas on their menu. The paella with squid ink rice was very good, though the scallops weren’t as soft as they should be. For the tapas, would recommend the croquettes, champinones, and shrimp
Scoarrat delivers on the seafood paella as you might expect, but it is the tapas that stole the show. Try the potatoes, and peppers, brussel sprouts, eggs and bread with tomato sauce - all super yummy. The vegetarian paella was OK (would recommend skipping it). The restaurant has a great ambience, perfect to enjoy some great wine.
If you want to be transported to Spain this is your place. The food reminded me of my last trip to Ibiza. Fresh seafood and lovely Spanish wine. Also the decor was very cool. The service was fantastic and authentic.
Super delicious drinks - Oaxacaño was spicy, well blended and so good I had to order two.
The tapas were the perfect precursor to a delicious blend of rice and marisco aka paella.
Tapas:
Octopus / Brussel Sprouts
Octopus was a tender, the mash that accompanied it had a good buttery wax potato mixture. It paired well.
The brussel sprouts were spot on, goodbye boils and mushy brussel sprouts and hello new age roasted and fried . The glaze was a sweet and tart , which was surprisingly pretty great.
The paella:
was a generous serving, plenty of marisco (sea food ) to go with it. Only complaint if any was the rice was extra dry, but flavorful.
Overall this is a great place, but not a daily visit - more of an " on occasion" , or when you've got a craving for a solid paella.

Came here for restaurant week a while ago - paella was very good and had a nice variety of ingredients, croquetas were just okay, churros were great. Bartender was very friendly and happened to live near where I lived in Madrid a few years ago!
