It was a spur of the moment decision to go there. Bored looking for something to do. I don't do clubs, too old for that. Did a google search for things to do in NYC. This popped up. We weren't sure we would get in since it was already 9:15 and the show started at 9:30. But we decided to take the chance. So glad we did. Although it was standing room only when we got there we still enjoyed the venue. I wasn't prepared for how small it is but that just provides for a more intimate setting. The host Gaston I believe that's his name was very entertaining in addition to the other poets and artists. His twin brother wise guy served as photographer and emcee as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed late night venue with no drama. The Nuyrican Poets Cafe does not disappoint.

This place is amazing. Since we don’t do clubs I took my husband here to celebrate life and he didn’t want to leave. All the performers were awesome and the acts just kept coming it felt never ending! The place is very compact drinks are served but not anything edible. The crowd was very jovial and diverse which I love. No drama, just love and respect was given and the smiles were wild spread. Wise Guy and his twin hosted the show and kept the audience laughing hysterically! My advice to one would be get there within an hour before the show to hopefully get a seat and to also find parking. This area have ample night spots which limits parking.

My family had an amazing time! The music. The DJ. The vibe. The love. The poets. The Legends. The up & coming poets. The rainbow of people enjoying life together. The laughs filled the room. The soul searching art of poetry was simply a perfect night in New York City. These Floridians are happy! P.S. Buy VIP and be in line before doors open.
