If you are interested in lo carb, no grain, high protein, lo fat, this is your stop. Aaaand there is so much flavor! I love that the bowls are customizable and they let you taste the sauce before putting it on your meal. The service is fabulous and I can't wait to go back. I did prefer the tuna over the scallops.
The meal was tasty and filling! I'm sure this place will be packed in no time!
There are a lot of poké places suddenly littering Manhattan.
Pokétown very well may be the best. Seriously.
FIVE STARS * FIVE STARS * FIVE STARS * FIVE STARS * FIVE STARS
First of all - Everything Is Fresh - the fish, the mix-ins, the sauces, the crunchies - all of it.
I confess to having a variation of their Poké Burrito every time, rather than eating it as a bowl or salad. The burrito is thick, packed and tightly rolled - so the rainbow of ingredients I might choose - beginning with their SuperFresh fish, maybe Edamame, Diced Mango, Ago, Furikake, Kana Salad, Avocado, Tobiko and Crispy Lotus, Potato and Onion Chips, all perfectly moistened with a Wasabi Aioli or a Ginger Ponzu sauce - all of it is right. More than right, it's great. What's supposed to be soft and moist is soft and moist. What's supposed to be crunchy is crunchy. What should pop pops.
The reason i get their plump tight Poké Burrito is that all the ingredients - the flavors and the textures - are laid close together and so each bite explodes with vivid flavors and sensations. No two bites are quite the same, but every bite is exquisite.
So yeah, I Love Pokétown. I live around the corner and have dozens of downtown's best restaurants near me. And i go to them as well. But I pick up something here whenever i have an excuse or a craving. I take it home, unwrap it - it's exquisite and insanely delicious - and it makes my day.
And the staff is really nice too, so there's another thing not to worry about.
