I always stop by when I’m in town. My favorite place and never disappoints. We were attended as soon as we came in and the hostess, greeted us. Quickly came over and took our drinks and arrived with menus. She had a smile and was ready to answer any questions. Food was hot when it arrived and she checked on us periodically, to see if we needed anything.
Best place to get Puerto Rican food. The alcupurias were amazing, they were crispy and soft. The shrimp Mofongo didn't disappoint. I do not need to go all the way to Washington Heights I can just go here instead. The pernil was a little bit dry but it was good. I wish they gave us some sauces but other then that id come back again.
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and my dad was proud of our Taino Indio heritage. I found this place on google maps and I am soo very happy I did.
Sunday takeout and I got the best alcapurria de yuca I've had in ages, a great beef empanada and some carne frita (fried pork chunks) with a perfect arroz con gandules and some 🥑. Everything was awesome.. The alcapurria was warm, crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned, the pork had the right flavor and was not over cooked.. I also got some amazing sancocho since its cold. 🍲🍴
This place genuinely reminded me of a restaurant in the mountains of Cayey where my parents would take me to on Sundays after church. Excellent Food, atmosphere and service. Don't you miss it.
