For starters our waitress Evie was amazing. She was very attentive, polite and professional. I have to say the Garlic bread which I didn't take a picture of was possibly the best bread starter in the North Country. They have to be respected for their solid dedication to honoring the original sabads by offering their version of the relish tray. From the description it sounds like it changes but ours had a Hungarian cream cheese spread that was absolutely delicious and a Kalmata tapenade that was very good. For die hard original sabads fans I will admit the cabbage noodles are not Shiney Sabads recipe but they are better than other recreations I've seen in the area. Their hand cut fries are actually crispy which is rare and my prime rib was cooked exactly how I asked. And yes I did have to pay extra to get mashed potatoes which I didn't need because I was so full I couldn't finish my entree but they were worth it. The prime rib comes with a garlic aioli that's clearly house made. Oh and the spinach artichoke dip is amazing. Hands down best restaurant meal I've had lately.
Sabad's is a wonderful family restaurant in Norfolk that offers unique items not found anywhere else. It also offers some unique flavors influenced by its Eastern European heritage. We always have a great experience when we make the trip from Ogdensburg.
Went for a date night for the first time under new management, and we were very impressed. The restaurant was super quiet (very surprising for a Saturday night), so perhaps it affected the service a bit, but the server was super attentive, constantly checking in, making sure we were taken care of. Fried mozzarella appetizer was pretty good, and the cabbage noodles were a pleasant surprise. Steak was cooked perfectly, something a lot of other places get wrong, the homemade bleu cheese was a nice touch too. It is a little pricey, but worth it for a nice night out...definitely not somewhere I'd eat regularly, though.
