Came in by myself, for the first time to try it out with a Clipper coupon. Service was excellent didn't wait long at the entrance but the place was practically empty arriving around 2PM... You have your own TV at your booth tables!
I used chose the FREE appetizer coupon, on coconut shrimp (I'm glad it was FREE), I'm not sure if they are supposed be BURNT in areas? (SEE PICS) Some like that, for me, the taste was great but every time, I got one of those burnt areas you taste burnt coconut, so it was a little turn off for me... I waited about 15-20 min to be served, it wasn't fast but it wasn't a long wait either and almost finishing my shrimp, the main entrée then arrived.
I ordered as main entrée, Stir Fry, Not Fried, that was good too but I chose chicken as a protein and maybe it's just me but it tasted a little off like if it was processed chicken, (not real breast of chicken) but it could be just me...
I ended it with a black berry cheese cake desert (very good had a good balance of sugar, not overpowering, it wasn't your fluffy cheese cake but it wasn't too dense either).
The waitress was very sweet, constantly coming by asking how everything was (I'm not one to complain much so I didn't mention the burnt coconut or chicken, when it's doable I just eat it, I don't want to wait for do overs, etc.). I spent $31 with the coupon, it would have probably been $40ish, (I only had water with lemon), a little on the pricey side...
I would have given it a 3 star for the food but I took into consideration the atmosphere vibe and great service and gave it a 4 star. They have nightly themes going on too and at 3PM, they have Happy Hours... I'm usually not in this area so I don't think I'd be coming back again. If it was "amazing" food then I'd go out of my way but it just wasn't for "me" =/
I truly enjoyed stopping by here. I happen to donate blood outside the restaurant and was given a voucher for an appetizer. Walking in to the restaurant, the atmosphere was very welcoming and since I took the food to go, they were very accommodating. The Ahi Poke Nachos are absolutely divine. Definitely will go back for the full experience.
Decided to stop by here for lunch after our trip to Fort Lauderdale, we sat outside and our waiter Justin S was amazing! His service was great no complains at all he suggested the best drinks. I was very impressed with the coconut key lime martini, my husband loved it. The coconut shrimp were delicious! But the best dish was the ahi poke nachos!!! Omggg so good and delicious the sauce was perfect and enough for two to share! We will definitely come back!
