I've driven by this little place many times over the years and haven't really even noticed it. But a friend invited my wife, and my very first impression pulling into the parking lot was... well, sketchy. The parking lot is full of holes, and the exterior of the restaurant is in serious need of attention. However, once inside, I was greeted by the maître d' and noticed that the interior of the small dining area was pleasantly detailed - white table cloths and cloth serviettes - napkins. We choose to sit in their outdoor dining area. Which was a plus minus decision. The plus was that the evening was cool enough to sit out of doors and the season early enough that mosquitoes weren't an issue. The minus was that the restaurant sits on a very busy street and faces the toll road, so even though the interior surroundings and weather were accommodating, the exterior environment made it a real challenge to chat with each other.
The outdoor seating area would have a challenge passing a building inspection. The restaurant isn't accommodating for elderly or physically challenged guests as the parking isn't even, and it's not lit.
The food is just ok, not great for a place where the per person cost is well north of $30. The prices are commensurate with an Argentinian Steak House. But the Popeyes next door is more inviting. Our tab for two was well over a hundred with two drinks.
Overall, it was a really cool experience with our friends and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. But I won't return. I'd say the highlight of the evening was actually our young wait person. She was incredibly attentive, polite, cheerful, and most of all professional - all in short supply these days. She'll go far in life.
The restaurant is very special, fantastic vibe! But their business hour is wrong on their own website and Google. Now they are BY RESERVATION ONLY. Definitely make a reservation online or call ahead before you go. All 3 kinds of sausages are very tasty! Very impressed. Their chimichurri sauce really stands out. Pair your meat with provolone cheese appetizer and the legendary chimichurri sauce. My favorite part is the vibe, the light makes you feel very relaxed! You feel like being transferred to a whole new world. Good for family out or a romantic date.
I have been to Choo-Choo several times and I can say it is our favorite. If you know a thing about steak and sausages you will notice the quality and the dedication put into delivering high quality, authentic Argentinian taste. The staff is always nice and the owner sometimes goes around and introduces himself to make sure you ate having a great time.
The restaurant is small and cozy, with a relaxed vibe.
Is it pricey? Yes, but you are paying for quality.
