'Ello Chaps,
Stumbled on Billy Reeds through reviews and somehow stumbled onto what is probably a landmark in Palm Springs.
During our week in Palm Springs, we ended up at Billy Reed's twice.
They're open all morning, all afternoon, and all night, and here's what you need to know: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner is served anytime (except where noted).
There is a rustic feel throughout the restaurant, almost as if some Californians imported remnants of authentic British pubs in the 1970s, although it's not too British.
You walk in and you walk back in time, but the restaurant is very clean, well kept, and comfortable.
The menu, the food. It is a HUGE menu guaranteed to give even the pickiest of eaters something. Great for kids and vegetarians too.
I highly recommend the pot roast and meatloaf. The Chicken Pot Pie was great, although the pastry on top did leave something to be desired.
Here's what else you can tell. The food is fresh, made from scratch.
Fantastic service too. I think we had someone named Janet or Janice.
Overall I give Billy Reed's five stars out of five. If you're browsing reviews trying to find a spot to go -- just go.
My first time in this place and I loved it. Will be coming back for sure. The portions are very generous, presentation was nice and the service was up to par. We had the fish and chips, the French dip sandwich and the clubhouse sandwich and og course the cheese cake with peaches. Yummy is was great! The pictures are from another visit we did.
Breakfast of champions. The menu is great, no skillets though, which is my typical breakfast go to. However the California omelet was sooo good. I loved the peppers in it, very non-traditional. Service was excellent and the owner floats around with a happy face. It's just pleasant. The bloody marys were top notch and everyone loved their food. The decor is nostalgic and the restaurant is exceptionally clean! Gotta love that. Their pecan and cinnamon rolls are divine!!
