Great low key, cafe and waterfront bar near the Peaks Island ferryport. Great service and atmosphere. Wonderful place to spend a blustery Sunday afternoon in October.

This little diamond in the ruff is everything I love about Maine! Vacationing with family and they brought me to the island for this wonderful little ocean front cafe! I cannot wait to go back! Everything about this place was wonderful. We were there in the off season so crowd control was awesome! The view was still stunning and the folks that work here are wonderful! Food was great! We ordered so many different foods and all of them were excellent!

On our first trip to Portland my husband and I decided to hop the ferry to Peaks island for dinner at The Cockeyed Gull, on the glowing recommendation of our Airbnb host. We’re SO glad we did! The food was AMAZING! The views were divine and the service was unmatched. I highly recommend the salmon! 10/10! We can’t wait until our next trip to Portland to come back for another delicious meal.

As of right now this place is open 7 days a week. It is absolutely fabulous! We got to watch the Sunset on the Patio while enjoying eachother, drinks and delicious food. For Appetizers we ordered the seaweed salad and the shrimp special. The Shrimp were plump with a very subtle crunch which was smothered in a decadent cream sauce. For dinner Fiance got the Shrimp Scampi, and I the Tuna Special both generous portions and cooked perfectly. We live in Portland and it was a great nightly adventure with fabulous food and service, we look forward to becoming regulars here!

Great little restaurant on Peaks Island. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Lots of options on the menu. My son has celiac and they were knowledgeable and accommodating. The Korean Bulgogi was fantastic and all 5 in our party enjoyed the meal and great sunset views of the city. For dessert the Boston Cream Pie and Carrot Cake were both delicious. We will make a point of returning here in the future!

We had lunch here and the view is amazing. The food was even better. We had 2 of the daily specials and both were excellent. Potato cakes and crab cakes were nice and crispy and the Caesar salad with Cajun salmon was awesome.

On our trip to Portland we decided to take the ferry to Peak Island (I’ve read recommendations that this is a great experience) The island is small and there are a few restaurants by the Ferry dock (many closed for the season, we went in late March). This cute place was open, relatively small inside, the outside deck has not been opened yet (it was too cold to sit outside anyway). We had already ate so wanted to get a small bite. The menu does not resemble the usual Portland menus of fresh seafood, it’s much more basic American. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak and I do have to say to my surprise it was excellent! I am not sure if this place is more vibrant during the summer but during our trip I was quite underwhelmed. However if you do end up at Peak Island, this place is a good choice for lunch or dinner (not sure if you have other options though, I think this may have been the only open restaurant on the island).

We loved the Caesar salad, the tuna tacos, the pork bulgolgi lettuce wraps and the cold beverages. We got to sit outside on the deck on a sunny 4th of July. Awesome view of Portland. Four stars for atmosphere because, while it is incredibly charming, some aspects could use a bit of a new shine. Will love to go back!

Excellent location, great food, pleasant service, and a good beer selection. Get off the ferry, take a right and it’s on the left towards the crest of the gentle hill. It’s before Brad’s bike rental, so don’t wait in line for a bike with the other ferry riders. Get a beer, have some great seafood, and take in the view.

The views were amazing. Service was stellar. The food exceeded my expectations for what I would get on Peaks Island. I had a crusted haddock. The fish was very good. The sauce was well done. The sticky rice was just that.

I never expect to much from restaurants in touristy areas. Usually I'm paying for the location, view, and food is so so. Not the case here! The food was delicious! The lentil soup was spicy and filled with veggies. Very filling. Then the desserts. The layers of carrot cake were soaked in deliciousness like my German mother use to do to her cakes. We sat inside, but still a lovely view of the water. When it warms up we'll come back and enjoy the deck. Only a hop, jump, and skip from the ferry.

Double the stars please! Fantastic experience all the way around. We came here Tuesday evening (8/31/21) Our server was so lovely, gracious and patient with us. We were even able to be seated outside even though we thought it wasn't going to be feasible. The scallops melted in our mouths, the dressing for our house salad with shrimp was lovely, light and tangy, along side the chicken Marsala, which was a nice serving size and decadent fillet. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, we'll be back!

This little restaurant is EVERYTHING. So cute, SO delicious, such friendly staff and good service, and of course the location is spectacular. We were in the island late after most tourists had left & we enjoyed watching the locals come and go and banter with the staff here. We went with the shrimp Caesar salad and beef bulging in bowl and had no regrets.

We didn’t eat here, as we had already eaten a late lunch, but we did grab a couple drinks on the patio while waiting for the ferry. We spent nearly an hour, in the sunshine, being waited on by a completely courteous, sweet waitress. She didn’t mind that we didn’t eat, that we just came in for drinks. The poor reviews almost stopped us from coming here, but luckily, this was the only place open when we were looking for a spot to sit down. I’m so glad we came in after all! We walked in with a smile on our faces and enjoyed the charm of the little place it. Our enthusiasm was met with the same niceties. I am a firm believer that you get what you give. So give this place a chance!
