My wife and I ate at the Bayou Grill for the first time last night for supper. The parking lot was full of cars when we arrived. As we opened the door and walked in, there was a large group on one long table in the middle of the restaurant. One of the staff was at the table taking orders and she glanced at us and said we could sit anywhere and someone would get with us soon. We picked a booth across the rom and sat. Another of the staff was there immediately to take our drink orders. She brought us the drinks a couple of minutes later and took our orders when we were finally ready after reading through the menu and asking a couple of questions. I had an order of three fried catfish with sides of fries and Cajun corn. My wife got the a platter with fried catfish, shrimp and hush puppies along with sides of Cajun corn and dirty rice.
I was concerned that the large group's orders would slow our order down, but we had the food in a very reasonable time. A couple of other couples came in after us and I noticed that there orders were also coming out at a good pace. All through the meal, the staff would stop by to check on us and refill our drinks usually when the glasses were only half empty.
The food tasted great, though next time I'll cut down on how much I get. I ate one of my wife's hush puppies and really enjoyed it. I wish that was one of the side selections. I think next time I'll ask if I can get some. The only place we saw them listed was with the platter.
We took our time eating and were out the door in about an hour after walking in.
Food and service was excellent. From NOLA, moved her 9 years ago and this is the best seafood I’ve had in Texas.....Hands Down! Little place, BIG flavor! Will definitely be back. Also great prices, Family of 5, $45, very reasonable!!
This place is awesome. If you're coming through old Pearland you should stop and grab a bite to eat!! Great service and even better food.
