First of all, I grew up on Nick’s! I haven’t been in years and decided to stop pass. SO GOOD! Still after not having it for 5 plus years so delicious! Staff was friendly. Service was quick! The ordering process was simple! Love this place! I will be returning!
Ifound this place on Yelp. Very highly rated. I had to try them. I arrived in Philly and immediately headed for Nick's. I arrived and sat at the bar. The waiter came over, and i told him it was my first time. What should i get? Of course, he recommended the roast beef. I said, hook me up, and he did.
The roast beef sangawich filled the whole roll. It had cheese and a gravy / sauce. They had a small jar of horseradish, nice and spicy to add to the meal.
Wow. What flavor. The horsey sauce was the topping on the cake (sangawich). That thing hit the spot. This was the best roast beef I've had. This is a must if you're in the area. Now I have another reason to come to Philly. I recommend.
After seeing a video or two of 'Old Nick's' roast beef on YouTube, I knew I would have to see for myself when I visited Philly.
I was not disappointed. The bar itself was great. Sat down, watched a Philles game with plenty of beers on tap and colourful locals adding to a great atmosphere...
And then there's the beef. Well, it is what it is. If you like roast beef, you'll love what you're served here. As a Brit, it was some of the best beef I've had and the gravy was second to none.
That said, do not skip on the roast turkey. The roast turkey, gravy and fries was the best thing I ate in all of Philly. Delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Oh and the staff were friendly and welcoming too, which was appreciated.
